First time to the track and did horrible !! Help needed.
For sure man, let us know how it goes.
It's hard to explain, but after the car is on the limiter catching up to speed, you'll feel it gain traction as the RPM's drop and you feel more force pushing you back into your seat. Once you feel that and its back near redline is when you shift. Should be around 45mph or so depending on your gear setup.

Racing at the track is much different than on the street and since drag racing is all about the first 60-330' that's where you need to practice like most of us
When you start making lots of power it's very easy to spin the tires leaving the line and the main issue with that is that you do need some vehicle speed to not bog 2nd gear........the catch however is that when spinning and bouncing off the limiter it makes it tough for the syncro trans to allow shift from 1st to 2nd to take place

Most likely I will break something in the trans but it will be worth it because eventually I will learn
I agree you are trying to shift into 2nd WAY to early which is when you first see redline. Let the car sit on the rev limiter for it to catch up to speed & traction before going into 2nd. I don't even bother trying to shift into 2nd until I see atleast 40mph on the cluster (evo 8 gearing stock final drive 26" QTP tire). Also try NLTs, itll make it easier and if you're spinning that bad, lower your tire pressure. I launch at 6800 here with 12-13 in the tires.

This is exactly it! I was doing the same thing at the track because I was spinning so hard and shifting to early the car would bog out of the hole. Im making 565hp on 93 and was on street tires, went 12.0-12.3@130-133mph with 2.0-2.2 60ft and was wondering wtf is going on. Then my buddys told me to let her eat until she catches in 1st gear. Once I did that I was able to cut better 60fts 1.8 and and run 11.3@133.
From watching the videos, it seems to me you are shifting to 2nd way to early. Let the car stay in 1st gear a little longer then hit second. That will help you get the car into 2nd gear for sure. I also recommend putting the tire pressures a little lower. But i would do more PSI in the front then the rear. Like 14psi front, 12psi rear. Each track and conditions are different and you might need to adjust, but when I ran the Hoosier QTP's that was a good starting point for me. I cut a best 60ft of 1.41 on those tires. Lowering the 2-step might help, but if you lower it too much the car might bog on you. Next track day go back out and try it and see what happens. Hope some of this info helps man! GL!

. I will have some gopro vids this coming Saturday to see what happens . Thanks to everyone here for all their advice .
No Problem man! Our season is pretty much done here is Chicago. It's going to be on long winter lol. I wish I lived in Florida.
Lol , Florida is ok as long as you don't live in South Florida because everything here is so damn expensive . Houses are at least 90,000 then what they cost in Chicago it's ridiculous . Even auto insurance it's so high .
