Vids of my 03 Evo

Been a while since Ive been on, but I managed to get 2 vids of my Evo over the summer. I have a lot planned for it, just a matter of time and piecing together the parts I want. Hopefully soon I will be posting more vids of it

Best pass at the track so far
Dont mind the idiot in the Cobalt, which also screwed up my plans to get to the stage first and 2 step longer...

Stretching er legs a little

Nice and looks like fun man. What are your plans for it? What mods do you have now?Nice to see an 03 still tearing it up.

Ha thanks. She's getting up there in miles, hit 120k right before I put it away for the winter. Long term plans are for a 6262 on a SD tune, I would like to be able to run low 11s/high 10s and still be a street car. When the stock motor finally decides its had enough I'll build a motor and try to go faster lol.

It had all its mods on it when I got it, kinda bittersweet actually, because it has all the bolt ons already so I don't have to buy them, but at the same time I like starting off with a stock car so I can put all those parts on myself. Anyway it has:

20G/10.5 hotside Turbo
MBC @ 26 psi
Injen intercooler piping
4" core intercooler
Tubular exhaust manifold
3" Turbo Back exhaust, no cat
Open 02 dump
BC 272s (needs better cams)
ARP Head studs
Wally 255
"Mail in" tune, needs a Dyno tune
ACT XTSS clutch

Probably forgetting some. It was setup for water/meth injection but the AFRs go to 10.5-11 under wot so I still have plenty of fuel. Hoping a Dyno tune and better cams gets me close to 11s on the track.

Looks like a solid setup man. That o2 dump sounds pretty mean in your videos, I like it! I'm sure with a good tune and maybe some meth you would run 11s with the setup you have now.

That precision 6262 is a serious turbo. I'm coming over from the forced induction Honda world and guys with Hondas are making well over 700whp with that turbo. So I'm sure it would be crazy on a car that actually puts that power to the ground.

Good luck with your build man.

Great video and good luck with the build. I bought mine two years ago from a good friend. I was in the same situation, it was already built. I was looking for one already done. Did not want to go through another build like I did with my WRX.

Yeah some people dont like the open wastegate because its loud, but I like it. You cant beat the sound of a 4G63 thru a 3" exhaust and an open wastegate. And Ive heard nothing but good things of the 6262, it seems like its just an all around good street turbo. Theres a few fast Civics out by me as well, most of them are non turbo nothing crazy, but there was one guy imparticular with a Single cam making 450 horse and running 11s, actually running faster than my buddies Evo 9...

Thanks man. Like I said its nice having all the bolt ons done already, but before this car I had a 95 Eclipse, got it when I was 16 and it was bone stock. Built it up over the years working at McDs and I ended up with one of the fastest 420A Eclipses around, ran a best of 14.6@95, all motor 2.0. Actually the same guy that had the Evo 9 up ^ there saw me get it out of a car show one night and he told my other friend that it was definitely the fastest 420A hes seen, and he hated 420As lol. I guess having all the easy stuff done just pushes me to do some serious motor work. When that day comes more videos will be put up

Ya right now I have an 04 wrx and a 92 civic turbo hatch. I will be selling the wrx and buying and evo as soon as our loan closes on our house. Right now I'm just learning as much as I can about evos before I buy one. One of the first mods I'll do to the evo will be an o2 dump lol. I also plan on doing my own tuning. I built and tuned my civic last year it has a non-vtec b18 in it with a precision 5431e turbo and it runs 11s all day long (on slicks of course lol) on only 16psi 100% street tuned it myself. The best part about the civic is I have a total of $6,000 in it, but it sucks to drive on the street. So the plan is a ~400awhp evo dd and the civic drag racing toy.

Yeah its definitely a whole different game in the Evo world, first thing I noticed about mine is how well they handle and how hyper sensitive the steering is lol. Definitely a good plan though, always fun to have a dedicated track car and a fast street Evo
