17in hoosier dot radials and high HP

Just looking around for some new tires and deciding if I also want to purchase new wheels. Have some friends that love the quick time pros but they of course are running 16in wheels.

My car makes around 800hp and from what I understand this is where the drag radials fall compared to the qtp's. I haven't found much info on this though. I have been searching this site along with a bunch of other forums and found mostly good things about the regular hoosier dot radials and a lot of people with very good 60ft times, problem is most of these cars only make 400 to 500hp.

Any input would be great before I just pull the trigger on 16in wheels and tires! Thanks!

You can't go wrong with a qtp on a 16" wheel as it is a lot softer of a tire specially since ur car is making a lot of power. A Hoosier drag radial can be a tcase breaker as the side wall is very hard. I would go with a qtp just too save the stress on the drivetrain IMO
