Thanks.

Good luck with the Viper and Cobra. With your power and a little better 60ft you have a good chance against them.

Hey "Fourdoor" and those others that tried to tell me here that dropping the stock clutch at 5K+ will not work and tried to tell smogrunner not to allow me to run his car. Well the fact is that he did let me run it at Fontana and if you look at my sig you will see what I did with the car on my first 2 runs with it. I also set the best time out of 8 modded evo's and beat smogrunner in his own car by more then 2 full tenths of a second and 1 full tenth of a second faster then IE EVO. Not bad for someone that has no "clue" on what he is talking about . BTW yes that is a 1.71 60 ft time with a 5500 rpm stock clutch drop on pilot sport street tires. Now to just do that again at carlsbad and we should have smogs car into the 11's.

Audi2ptzero is correct. In fact the launch he describes is perfect. You slip that clutch just a little too much and you'll be buying one very soon. Not that side stepping is good either mind you. That is the whole trick to learning how to launch and AWD car. There's a fine line between bog, wheel spin, or a perfect launch. It just takes practice. But if you "try" to slip the clutch you'll enjoy a hearty stink in the air and mighty pain in your wallet.

Good luck! I highly recommend you go to your local track during their test & tune events and practice. Don't worry about getting a great reaction time (don't really worry about the tree at all) just feel out a couple different launches. You'll quickly start to see what works and what doesn't. But you just gotta try it if you wanna learn. People will give you technics all day long, but you want what works for you in your car!

The emphasis here is STOCK clutch. Try a 5-6k drop on a Twin Disk and you'll get wheel hop. Slipping that clutch just a bit worked better!!

But I'm sure Audi2ptzeroSmog'sEvo will educate us mere mortals on that...j/k

you can play with the tire pressure to get remove the wheel hop. Its all a game of traction with AWD, too much and you bog or break something.

Twin Disc dump is not in my future. On the stocker yes but I am trying to conserve my transfer case and dumps on a twin is a lil risky.

GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - drag Sunday if the weather works out. I've not gotten wheelspin yet. Are you saying to get her to 5500 and sidestep the damn clutch...???

Yes at the track side step the stock clutch and rev high enough to get wheel spin. On the twin disc do that and a new transfer case better be waiting at home.
