im taking my tarmac black evo tomorrow to the wed night drags..i live in s.f. Ca. and i want to know what time i should be able to pull off..my evo is bone stock with a tt which makes no difference..i can launch the evo pretty good at 4.5 never took it up to five yet..what are good shift points..i know anything over 7k on a stock evo will not produce good power up there..what does an stock evo in vallejo bay area conditions hit?...cause other people are posting that they hit 13.1 @104 stock.. my goal is to hit 13.4 stock..thats the most common time i see on this forum..so if your going tomorrow to infineon race way for the wed night drags i'll be there with my tarmac black evo..thanks alot..

 

man did i do bad..launching wasnt for me that night...i bogg out my first two runs and my third and fourth run was a decent launch..first time at the track with the evo..

umm...how were the track conditions? I'm in the bay area and was planning to go w/ a wrx friend of mine on the 12th, but found out it was closed for the week. Post up, next time you go... Maybe we can meet up there or something...I have yet to run the evo

 

Congrats!

Not bad for a bone stock EVO with a first time racer. You can probably get it down to a mid 13 at 99 to 101 with driver improvments and good track conditions. Hell just by dropping your 60' down to a 1.8 would net you a mid 13!

the track condtions were good i guess.. it was hot when we got there and started to cool down..from my first run it was 77 temp.F then went down to 66.F..my last.. VICIOUS there is a wed night drag event this comming wed. im not sure if im going yet..the sched is on infineonraceway.com go under sched and it will show you what days are the events.. it would be cool to go down there with a fellow evo ..

The last couple of runs weren"t too bad for the old Searspoint!!

That track is well prepared so you have to be real aggressive on your launches. (as you found out)

Try launching aroung 6k and your 60ft should lower into 1.8s even on a stock car.

 

yah..infineon is a tough track for good times..but your last 2 times were nice, you should let me know next time you go to the track..everytime i go there i never see any evo's, but i always see srt-4's, sti's, etc..

i was thinking of going yesterday but i had things to do..i think i saw your cousin run last year..his z is turbo right and does it have like a lip kit or something?..

 

yea...he does have a lip kit... He just started working on the car again last year and i believe his shakedowns were only low 14's. He should be able to knock off a 12 this year before he upgrades the turbo... We're actually thinking of going to sac on the 11th...interested?
