That was I.E. Evo. He has a simple Vishnu Stage 1+. He runs consistent 12.2 to 12.3s and from 111 to 113 mph. Why do you ask?

A viper has to put a lot more than 113mph. Sounds like really bad driving and average tires.

I was at the track about 3 weeks ago and watched a viper run. He was running anywhere from 12.1 to 13.0 @ 117 - 122 mph. Man, they look good going down the track. very sweet ride.

Yeah I was there when IE EVO went up against his friend with the Viper, yeah the Viper owner couldn't drive very well, but even if he could it would have been close because IE EVO was running consistent low 12s, and I believe the Viper was stock and capable of low 12s also if driven better.

The viper probably has the same problem I do with my Z06........traction. If I rev it up and pop the clutch there is a lot of smoke but I dont go anywhere! No such problem with the Evo though

Vipers can be fast, a friend here puts down 850WHP and runs 140+ traps all day long

It sounds like the difference between the Viper he saw and your friend's can be found in those little black roundy thingys under the car; the uh, you know, whaddaya call'em, uh tires.

Yes Vipers are fast but some vipers I can beat at the 1320. Driving a Viper quickly at the 1320 takes some skill and until a newbe can hone their skills at launching a Viper correctly any low 12 sec car can compete and likely can beat one at such a race. Now on the highway from a roll I will get killed even by the less skilled drivers. BTW At the tracks I frequent there are these really cool/fast Viper enthusiasts that run their cars on a regular basis. Out of the 5-6 that run there is one Viper I feel I can beat (based on comparative timeslips) but the other 3-4 would all beat me pretty good. Now the race in question at fontucky was sad. That was friend from work that called me out when he got the car saying that there was a new sheriff in town. Well i was not about to bench race with him and i told him to bring it to the track and see if he could smack me down. I even took him to Carlsbad the week before to practice because i wanted a competitive race. Well he sucked at Fontuky and hit the rev limiter and could not get a decent launch. His best time to date is 12.9 at over 113mph. With more practice and stickier tires low 12s are in his future. So yes i did beat a bad driver but i do not think I beat the viper.

Also depends on the model year of the viper. When they first came out they only ran 12.9-13.1. The current ones can run 11"s.
