lil'evil_evo,
I'll try oil change as suggested by you to see what'll happen. I'll update on that. Thanks.

I didn't see the silver one ran except my friend but he wasn't into 12s. So I may missed one.

The BR500 Evo told me that he need stand-alone.

G20, Good luck on your 4th gear issue. Btw I wish my Evo could talk it would probably tell me what I needed. Maybe a hottie in the backseat. I wish Gabe the best and I believe he wants stock like drivability(plug and play not fiddle every day) so a full standalone is probably not his best option.

well my slip reads like this

fontana
r/t .565
60 1.97
330 5.590
1/8 8.664
mph 81.24
1000 11.305
1/4 13.525
mph 101.91

my clutch does slip only when launching on regular driving its fine
ive had a few time where 2nd would lock oout also but rarely..
i had 5 gallons of 109 mixed with 2 gallons of 91 (a$$ cali gas)

my car seems to feel so much stronger when it cold.. i do feel i need more fuel tho
when my car is warming up and the fuel is rich it seems to haul butt..

hmm.. not sure i haven't really got the launching thing down on the evo yet..
any tips from the 12 sec guys?

my car dyno'd at 272 to the wheel's just a few weeks ago i know it has more
i just dont want to reflash all the time. im thinking of getting the EMS system.

i know this whole fuel management system thing is a big topic of it's own..

i just poped on some hardpipes a week ago seems to spool better , but who knows.. butt dyno thinks so

i have a friend with a SRT-4 that runs from 12.7 to 13.1 consitantly with less than $600 in mods . thats another topic of it's own and 2 diffrent cars..

after what mileage did you guys change plugs?

thanks for the info

That 60ft is the first part of your problem. That's pretty crappy for the AWD evo. Do some searches on launching techniques. You can get under 1.8 pretty easily, and that's where you want to be.

Part 2 - that damn 91 octance! haha.

G/L.

Evolife04, If you want a 12 sec Evo make a trip to Pleasonton and take g20 with you. It continues to amaze me that all of Shiv's 1+ customers run consistent low 12s on the stock turbo even on tracks running into a headwind. Most of us that drag have run in the low 12s and when Evotomig runs with his 1+ and intercooler upgrade I believe a 12 flat or better is possible. I have seen 3 turbo upgraded cars run at Cal Speedway and I can honestly say my current set-up is suprisingly competitive with them. The kid with the 25g turbo might have ran 12.0 but several of his runs were in the upper 12 to low 13s. Another 3071 turboed Evo was in the 13s a couple weeks earlier and all his homies were saying in the tech area he was the fastest Evo. Not even able to post a 12 sec run sickens me with an upgraded turbo.IMO With proper tuning these turbo kits would be kicking more A$$.

i dont know too much about how the diameter of rims work with racing and what not, but if you have some extra cash slap some light/cheap 15's on there with some nitto drags.

That was a very good race, thye Corvette barely pulled it out because he had a better start, all though the Cobra ran the quicker time, ok I got two set of numbers in my head- the Cobra either ran a 12.7 to the ZO6s 12.9 (WIN) or the Cobra ran a 12.4 to the ZO6s 12.6 (WIN), so yeah it was one of those times. Good Race, and no didn't look like the 11 Second Eclipse beat you that bad from the stands, although it is really hard to determine the length of victory from the stands, it's better to be on the grounds or in the pit area.

I remember you getting a 13.5 with the p2 and 18pnds of boost when i was there watching. So on the reflash the times remained the same but what about the mph.

evolife04, next time you go to Fontana try running just straight 91 octane. I ran some 100 octane once on my EVO and actually ran slower, the car just felt doggy. The week after I went back with 91 octane and ran my usual times 13.80's @ 100MPH stock. You need to have a way to lean out your air/fuel mixture to take advantage of that high octane or you will run rich. When I had my Talon I would go about 5 to 7 % leaner and up the boost another 2 PSI. I'll be playing around with some 100 octane once I install my SAFC so I could lean it out a bit.
