Thumbs up

What is your launch rpm and clutch releast method?

60' times? ( they should be 1.70-1.80)

one of the things I can tell you is not to bother worrying about reaction times. It has absolutly nothing to do with the ET or any of the other measurement figures. If you want to improve your launch tecnique, ignore the tree and leave after the green when you feel comfortable with rpm/throttle. Granted..you probobly lose the race, but in test and tune...who cares...line up with hondas and give them a head start!

sounds like your clutch is slipping.

Having a clutch that doesn't slip can make a pretty big differance...

With those mods and having a racing background it just makes no sense except for a slipping clutch. I would get one asap if the funds are available.

Even if your clutch slips at launching, that 102 mph doesn't show the power you should have with those mods.

At least a 105 trap.

Please post whole time slip #'s

You're not alone. I was back from Fontana drag today and couldn't break into the 12s as well. So far I'm consistently at 13.001 to 13.6 with trap speeds between 100.5 to 105.6. Oh yeah, my 60' times are consitently 1.8s with two time 1.7xx.

Today, I got some 100 oct in the car but the best I did is still 13.3 with 104.7 trap speed and 1.8 60 ft. Dynoflash, AVO downpipe & exhaust, UR hi-flow, 272/264 cams, ACT cluth. I'm having problem shifting into 4th gear at around 7000rpm and it happened consistenly all 4 runs today. I need to check it out, hopefully gear and trans fluids change will fix that. If anybody had experience the same problem shifting into 4th gear at high rpm please give me suggestion. I'm not sure how much times I lost misshifting but I know it's a problem that I need to resolve first in order to improve my time.

There were three 12s EVOs out there tonight including IE, Vivid Racing customer EVO (Greddy T6/7 upgraded turbo) and a BR5000 EVO.

I had that same shifting problem in 4th and eventually had the synchro replaced by Mitsu under waranty. Still did 12.4-12.6 at Carlsbad and Cal Speedway with the grind/lockout. The bottom line is that you need tuning. btw How did my car feel compared to yours with basically the same mods.I believe you could feel the difference. Fwiw I missed the 2-3 shift twice tonight and still managed 12.8 and my 12.4 with the rematch with the turbo upgraded Sti was done with a granny shift into 3rd and a low rpm shift into 4th. I did not want to ruin that run and at least run 12.4. However on my 12.3 run at 111mph I drove the $hit out of my car and shifted like a madman. I had to I was running an 11sec Dsm and I had to try and make it look respectable. He still walked me but hey I expected that beating. All in fun win or lose.IMO Your car is just not making the power it should with your mods. Time to do it right!

IE,
thank for your suggestion. After I resolve my 4th gear problem, I may consider a 6-hour drive in hope to get my car up to its potential. Do you really think the 4th gear shifting could be a synchro problem?

Good thing I read this. I had the worst problem shifting into only 4th. I could never hit it past 4500 RPM's. Then I changed all the fluids over to Redline products (ask if you want exact ones used) and it went away I can once again shift into 4th at 7500 RPM's I was so happy it made a big difference.

I don't know because i have never driven your car. But tonight 3rd gear locked me out also. However I try and shift very fast and keep boost so sometimes human timing errors are the reason and the car probably was not at fault. I told you that the way I shift is all or nothing.Yes I bone shifts and make errors everytime i go out but when I hit the gears right my car runs good times. I want to put down a good # usually and any off boost shift can be critical to your Et and mph. I batted 500% tonight. Two good runs and two crappy runs. Good luck on your 4th gear and get that bad boy tuned for 12 sec passes.

I thought there were 4 EVOs that hit 12s, I thought I saw a Silver one run 12.8? Anyhow, if you think California Drag Strips Suck, raise your hands? I realized the same problems, I couldn't hit 12s with my VR4 and I had a hella of alot of mods, and then I see VR4s across the country running 12s, with less mods and similiar 60FT times, WTF???? The BR500 and Vivid Racing Customer EVO would have easily hit 11s on the east coast, but at California Speedway it is a lot harder (especially with that freakin' head wind). The Vivid Racing Customer EVO was so close though, 12.0@116MPH. Not sure on why the BR500 EVO was only trapping 113-115MPH???

3000ways, Yeah it is not the fastest track out there especially when that headwind rears its ugly head (pun intended). That Vivid Evo did do an 11.9 at the battle of the imports but last night I believe it kept blowing some hose off that is connected to their interchiller device.A Dsm junkie told me that the t-67 on that car is equivelant to a 25g turbo. Car should be deep into the 11s. Car sounded really bad when they left and they have alot of tuning issues to work out. As far as the BR500 not doing 11s I believe it had to do with the blowoff valve needing to be crushed to hold boost. I am positive Gabe will have that car dialed in very soon. So 3000ways did you see that gsx hand me my A$$. He told me he would let me get the jump to make it a race. I knew he was BSing me and I told him before that he would probably red light to make it look worse. Sure enough he red lights and spanks my a$$. I had a 1.72 60ft on that run and ran my best time and mph at Cal Speedway on that run but when you race an 11 sec car that redlights it probably made my run look slow. BTW The run before me with the DSM was a Cobra vs a z06 what was the outcome of that race.
