I jumped into this one a bit late but from reading your time slip ...your reaction time was good...but i guess the weather did most of it...I went down to the strip @ night and ran 12.9 @108mph on pump gas and my 1/8th was like 8.5xx...all ive got on the car is the HKS EVC boost controller and a hks rs intake...

thanks for your input.

actually if yuo read the other thread, i went by al and we dynoed it.. im maknig 291 whp and so my car is making the proper power. i think it was a combo of the weather and me having to shift slower so that i dont grind 2nd to 3rd.. .when al testdrove my car, he tried ot shift fast and it would not go into at a high rpm.. i was shifting very carefully and precisely during my track runs,, but i guess this is contributing to my higher times.. im currently tryin to figure out a solution to this shifting thing...

Get rid of the dynoflash tune. That's my $.02 Your mph is kinda low. I was trapping at 101.9 mph (Basically 102) in hot weather and against the wind with the Xede piggyback system. I still ran a 13.6 sec. 1/4 mile. Basically i'd advise you to dyno your car, and see what numbers it is really putting out.

291 whp doesn't equate to a 98-99 mph trap at all. Heck i'm probably pushing that much right now, and I can assure you I won't be trapping in the 90's range at the track next week. What type of dyno was this? I dynoed 228 whp with catback and the Xede on Shiv's Dyno Dynamics dyno, and I trapped 101.9 with that setup. I think you need to try another dyno, cause some dynos are wildly optimistic. In any event, contrary to popular belief, I see alot of mildly modded Evo's barely able to break into the 13's, unlike what alot of internet BS'ers will say (AKA the people that never go to the track, and post times based on other people's time slips with the same mods).

my last run was:
12.86 et
1.75 60'
106.xx mph

it really depends on the trap conditions and the driving. also temp and your area also help to vary your car from others.

Well you should get ride of the Xede , My stock evo trap 101.7 and ran 13.5 <sarcasm> . Now see how dumb that sounds.

very hot and humid...

dont have a scanner to post the slipm but ill post the numbers:

temp f. 75
humidity 96
barometer 29.25

RT - .182
60' - 1.911
330 - 5.635
1/8 - 8.763
MPH - 81.11
1000 - 11.507
1/4 - 13.769
MPH - 98.70
DUDE, IT SAYS YOUR R/T IS .182 . THAT MEANS THAT YOU JUMPED THE TREE (LAUNCHED BEFORE IT WAS GREEN). .5 IS IDEAL FOR A REACTION TIME. I RAN 13.6 STOCK IN NEW HAMPSHIRE W/ A R/T OF 5.43 . HOW DO YOU LAUNCH? I REV IT UP TO 5K RPMS. LET THE CLUTCH UP A LITTLE UNTIL IT IS AT THE CATCH POINT, AND THEN FLOOR THE GAS AND LET THE CLUTCH GO. (THE CLUTCH SLIP TECNIQUE). I RAN 13.6 ALL NIGHT LONG W/ A BABY CARRIAGE IN THE TRUNK AND WHILE CHEWING BEEF JERKY.

Actually, some tracks use .000 as .500 now so his actual r/t was .682.

well reaction time is the least of my worries at this point.. as far as i know, that has nothing to do with your 1/4 mile time- correct?

we got rained out on wed- so next wed its on! again, anyone is invited to come down...

unless there is even a hint of rain- i aint driving all that way again to get rained out!!

Correct, reaction time normally just dictates who gets to the end of the track first if both cars run similar times and it has no bearing on your ET, trap speed, whatever. Also, most tracks are switching to the .000 perfect reaction time, I know mine has.

For reference:
I just ran a 13.7.
Only Mods are: Buscher Turboback - no cat, Buscher intake.
The high for the day was 77 and humidity was 45%
Minnesota so about 1300 feet above sea level.

Here is my slip:
60' 1.885
330 5.582
1/8 8.724
mph 79.02
1000 11.422
1/4 13.709
mph 98.66

Nothing to brag about but that was first time I ever drag raced, and boy it was fun.....now I need more mods.
