I just wanted to share this PM AL just sent me - how awesome is this?

"Come on down bro for a free dyno session - I'll check it and make adjustments as needed and see what is going on

Maybe - MAYBE you need to drive harder - maybe the tune is off a bit - why speculate

I'll give you a free check up !"

al coulda been like screw you- learn how to drive- my tune is right- but he is being very fair.
i was afraid at first i might have to pay to get it checked out, but as you can see he is legit- Thanks Al- i appreciate you being willing to check this. i'll be in touch to schedule something!

and i'll update everyone after it gets looked at

that right there goes to show. if you act human and respectful toward someone you'll get treated with respect back. there are a few members on here that need to sit down and take notes. Now I have heard some instances of al getting rude with random people, but you can't expect someone to be perfect. I don't have a dynoflash on my car and probably want. but I still think he is a respectful guy that does good work. just my 0.02cents.

Good timming, I think you are in a good position now. I'm sure dynoflash don't want any negative comments on his product or service added to the drama that already explode. I think he will bend over if you want him to.

kinda crappy right?? that was my BEST time too.. the others i was running mid 14's but thats cuz i didnt wanna launch it - im scared as hell to break my car.

finally when i got the 13.7 i did a nice moderate launch..

it was rainy, and very hot and humid... did that kill me THAT much or do i just need to learn how to drive?

i ran a 13.8 bone stock last year.. but it was at nite and much cooler..

any thoughts on it would be appreciated
Looked for the post about the underdrive pulley and Flashing but could not find it , But I think that Al said that the pulley was not something that he would recomend b/c it tricks the ecu and pulls timing b/c it thinks it hears detanation....But you called Al and I hope ya'll get it worked out

I hope AL does a good job tuning, I mean atleast he might be able to find out what is wrong with your EVO, because your traps are way low, I would say it's your driving, but 98MPH is low. I think people here over estimate tuning, I mean come on if you have bolt ons on your car, your car should go faster with out proper ECU tuning, all turbo cars respond this way, proper ECU tuning should be the icing on the cake, not just the ends of all ends. The point I am making, is that somebody will post about a dissapointing track time, the first and usually always the most likely reason for this, is pure bad driving, but practice will improve this. Then there are the legit cases of many mods and slow times and very slow trap speeds such as this guy, and a lot of you guys just say his car needs to be tuned. What? There obviously is something wrong with his car, I mean the EVO is like all cars, you slap on 5 to 6 mods you improve, yes sometimes people go about it in the wrong way and their numbers are lower than they expected, but they should never go slower than before, unless something is wrong with the car. I'm sorry, when I buy an EVO and I run (hopefully) 13.4 or 13.5@100 to 102MPH 1/4 Mile time and buy and install bolt on products and take my car back to the track and run 13.4@98MPH, f*ck an ECU tune, I'm taking my car to a mechanic. Unless (Al is a good mechanic also, then it's all good). Sorry for the long post, but I keep open the possibility that a simple ECU flash can not always fix all the problems, especially if the problem lies else where, this is why I believe so many tuners get into trouble and why EVO customers sometimes come away dissapointed. Look at EVO8power, did he ever think to go take his EVO to a proper mechanic and get his problems fixed??? Or did he just keep doing flash after flash, then my gosh, he gets a turbo upgrade, and the orginal problem still hasn't been fixed, unf*cking believable!!!!!!! some of you EVO owners don't deserve your cars, and I'm stuck driving a crappy *** Sentra, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

That's not entirely true though. If you just throw on a Walbro 255 pump then it's dumping way too much fuel in and the car runs pig rich. You have to tune to get round that problem. It's not the icing on the cake, it's a necessity. Al has a theory that the pulley makes the knock sensor believe the engine is knocking and retards timing, so that could be the case too.

No flames from me I am done. Hope Al hooks you up right this time. His new approach to customer service might help keep down the bad PR he has recieved recently. Respect goes a long way and I hope he has learned from this experience. FWIW Some dynoflashed Evos show improvements at the track and some don't. Consistency is not there but it is not always his AL's fault like 3000Ways just mentioned. However, when it is his tune he needs to own up and admit that maybe the tune for that Evo might be a lil off due to car to car variances,BR 500 is limited with flash etc and develop an alternative tune or just give them the money back guarantee. Due to all the Al bashing I think Al will start handling situations like this 13.7 at 98mph a lil more seriously and take the time to make a customer happy. Al I do not hate you Bro and I hope your new attitude isn't an internet fasade(faking)and you really do intend to care about all of your customers.Good luck Bro and peace out!

turbotrix has tuned cars with the pullies and they have made STRONG power.

there was a guy at a turbotrix dyno day who made 347 whp with 3" full turbo-back WITH a high flo cat, fuel pump, 272's, and drop in filter, and UR pullies.

U go figure

yes and the greddy spec b boost controller.

i believe everything is ok with the boost because i can fully control what boost level i want. i have the low boost set at 15 for daily driving and high boost at 20.5 which is what al told me to set it at.
yesterday i was hitting the 20.5 no problem...

im curious about that underdrive pulley thing... i dont have the full kit- just the one pulley...
maybe i'll bring my stock one with me tomorrow when i go see him.. either way i'll let all of you know what happens!

HMMM....

but notice he said this:

"Just to clarify again - the a/c. power steering and water pump can be switched over to lightwieght and under driven no sweat - its ONLY the crank that i suggest you leave stock"

i only have the underdrive pulley...but hey.. if thats causing the problem, i'd be more than happy to let it go....
