Down shifting?
3 pages of everyones opinions...should i really add more madness?
First and things first, you need to realize that its really not all that complicated. Were talking about street driving. Bottom line is you live you learn. We could give you all the pointers we know but in the end youll figure it out one way or another.

why do racers do heel toe? does it slow the car down faster? or is it to keep the revs to what they want it to be (instead of a gear higher)?

some times people just dont learn anything if they dont have someone who is experienced to sit in the passenger side seat to teach the driver the proper way of doing things.. I sat in with many people who drove for 10, 20 and even 30+ years and they dont know the proper shifting (or basic car control techniques).. just because you survive daily driving doesnt make you a driver that knows how to do stuff, you only drove up to this point of knowing how to just survive to this point.
