best way to take off besides launching?
what is the best way to take off let's say on a traffic light besides launching? for example like an automatic v6 or v8 pulls up to you on a red light and you know he's tryin to cut and get in front of you when the light turns green. any suggestions?
Simple
You let him take off, let him in, and drive the way you normally drive. Nothing pisses off someone like that more than someone who doesn't want to play.
Competition of any kind should be taken to a controlled environment, like a drag strip or a track. At the risk of sounding cliche, street racing is not like childish, but dangerous.

It's not street racing unless you obscenely rev, screech your tires, or exceed the speed limit. Unfortunately there's still excessive accleration thing you have to worry about too, but that's debatable.
Best way is to just chill like it's any other light, but be watching the opposite directions light and watch it turn yellow. Remember, first one across the intersection wins!
Don't race...plz!

what is so important that you cannot let the other guy go in front of you? just let him pass and if you are really in a hurry, just pass him once he takes off, i'm pretty sure you can handle that.

I know cause I am from the gulf by the way.
throw something at him when the other light turns yellow. and as he's going "WTF!" and gettin out of his car. the light will turn green and you drive away however you'd like with him standing in the middle of the road.
(this thread is almost a month old but i thought i'd add that in as an alternative

I like to let them think they actually won in first gear then when I hit second I get to 60 before him passing him laughing then just coast and watch him get angry and punch it then he gets pulled over by the cops. It actually happened to me twice
. Of course this is on a highway light here off the 76 where 55 is the limit but 60 is usually the norm and cops don't really mind if your going 60.
