Alright before the light turns green, rev your engine, give him/her "the look", and when the light turns green, just take off reeeaaaal slow.

throw something at him when the other light turns yellow. and as he's going "WTF!" and gettin out of his car. the light will turn green and you drive away however you'd like with him standing in the middle of the road.
hahahha.. this one is pretty good.. I think I will use this in future... I think this forum has the best comments, and sometimes they get stuck in your head, and you laugh all day about it..

what i would do:
pull the e-break up but do not realese the button, another words hold it .Rev the engine, /for me/ 6000 rpm. Start realising the clutch untill you feel it's start streching the car. Now you can readjust/ lower it/ the e-break to that point, where you are not start to roll. This is what they called preload the car.
The lights green ,you dropp the E-break and you will jump over those V8's. Without damiging anything.
This is how i launch it. Othervise V8 will win.

wow dude at 6000 rpms woulnt you burn the clutch. and dont you basically get the same effect as a launch, theres no way this could make you take off faster than a launch for sure

that is a preloaded launch. so its a launch . But a killer one. not for your car, for your opponent. Since you are preload all the components before you launch ,it give less stress on the drivetrain. Also is more effective since you find the right point to realese the car from dig. If you do it right.

I'm not sure how that logic works or maybe I'm not fully understanding your method.

After preloading, do you continue to let the clutch slip while holding the e-brake up to prevent the car from moving, or do you simply hold the clutch to the point before grip (a regular launch method)? If you continue to slip then you are doing nothing more than burning the clutch. Manual transmission is not the same as automatic transmission cars with stall converters to use the brakes in sling-shotting the car.

sorry the english is very hard form me.
Yes when you find the gripping point, then back off a little ,then just 1-2 sec before actuall launch you go back the gripping point ,then go. we used to launch like that, when i was raceing.
Its not like you hovering there 30 sec or more. When actually you get used to it ,the whole method souldn't be more then couple sec on the clutch.
Now when i raced, i always had aftermarket clutch etc. so it doesn't hurt them at all.

I know this has nothing to do with the original question, but dam Wazvette, you've owned a lot of nice cars! And how and why so many in such a short period of time?!

There's so many V8 guys around here. I just let them drive their own race.

Every once in awhile I get goaded into something (usually 1 out of 4 times). What's funny, is it's usually through a tight-cornered section through town here.

They never make it past corner one.

I think I get more agitated with other tuner/ricer cars that try to goad me than the V8's. Either way, it's all Ego, and it bothers them more when you don't play with them than it does when you go with it. So I try my damndest to not get goaded into it. My youthful age makes it hard, but the times I do I get a good smile from their smug faces.
