2.4L engine "launch"

now that there are more 2.4's on here, thought i'd get some thoughts.

how touchy is your gas pedal?
both my wife and I have both noticed that it takes a light touch on take off, or you're jumping off the line.

i haven't driven an NA engine in over a year (last one i owned was a V8, still smoother to pull out with!). but i don't think that's the issue.

so how is yours?

i have the FWD 2.4L and it is touchy. for example, when parking and you just want to scoot just a little forward and you tap the gas, you have to be ready to hit the brake. lol.

ok good, not just me. i remember not paying attention once, and was pulling out of an intersection .... TORQUE STEER!!!! almost ripped the steering wheel out of my hands.

funny that the new WRX w/CVT gets complaints about being a dog off the line .... CVT is not the problem, at least with the OS.

Activate 4WD (when not paying attention at intersections) to reduce the T-Steer.

The 0-60 times are pretty close. But I would bet/hope that say, 0-20 mph is better in the 2.4

you don't have to hit the gas pedal as far down when trying to pass a vehicle on the highway
