2 Step

im curious about this... since our launching is very diff and gotta kinda ride out the clutch my boy told me it wouldnt really help... i personally think it will though bcuz the best way to launch the evo by wat everyone says is by just blipping for a sec and then holding at around 5-6k... holding it at 5k takes very little throttle to do so not much boost is building up... so my theory is what if you get a 2step and set it for 5-6k...? and basically stay at half throttle or so when waitin for that last yellow... wouldnt that help to get off the line?? to me it just seems like that extra boost built up could help with the 60'' a lil bit and i personally think with the evo especially its ALL ABOUT THE LAUNCH...

The two step is a unit that you put on your car that aids you in launching it.

Basically what it does is allows you to floor the gas pedal and it will hold a certain RPM. Well it actually won't hold a certain RPM -- it fluctuates RPM by about 500-800. Because of the way it operates, it also builds boost pressure while in neutral so when you side step the clutch, you get a much crisper launch because you are launching with more HP, which also allows you to launch at a lower RPM and save your clutch life as well.

This will be one of the first mods I do since I like to track my car a lot. If you dont track your car a lot, it would probably be a waste of 2-3 hundred dollars.

I just had this explained to me as well for the first the other night. I do not remember exactly how it builds boost but it has something to do with it causing the motor to have to go under load in order to make the unit work. I am sure a more "tech" oriented person could explain it a little better.

Side stepping the clutch is just dumping the clutch...dropping the clutch...whatever you want to call it. Just removing your foot off the clutch pedal in one quick and swift motion.

it builds up boost because boost builds as you are hitting the throttle... the more % your hitting the throttle the higher psi your going to get your turbo spooling before you launch...
