what??? nooo. double clutching is not that at all

double clutching is clutch in- put car in neutral- clutch in - put car in drive. its pushing the clutch in to get into neutral and pushing the clutch in to get outa neutral if u do it fast and are good at it, it is 100% smoother on the tranny.

not using ur body

Rear diff "smacking". If you ride with an Evo guy with a lot of miles under his belt, they'll shift fast without that sound. Watch drag racing videos on youtube or something. They're quick and "smooth" on the drivetrain.

When my Honda friend (FR...S2000) drove my car the first time, he did it too. Loud rear bang every hard shift. I told him to shift slower with more time on the clutch. After a while, he found the sweet spot and can shift faster than me, smoothly with little clutch time. He is a VERY good driver, so it is just getting used to the hardware you're using.

I think one of the problems is that a stock clutch, with pill, doesn't move as quick as we do. I can definitely feel almost a delay in engagement/disengagement. I need to get rid of the pill and get a SS line and report back results.

my b. thats how i was taught, and thats what i thought it was called.. dosnt really matter what its called.

and to the guy that said he ran 12psi on his integra.. well one thing, you musta been built, because i have NEVER heard of a reliable 12psi stock motor. kaboom.. butt you must admit. driving a boosted honda for a DD is not fun. unless you dont take care of it then it wont last very long thats what ive learned in my turbo honda experiences

Coming from a honda myself I realized driving my evo like a honda was bad. All my friends have eclipses and evos and the told me to "shift fast NOT hard!"

A buddy of mine used to drive his car like that. His second TC was just put to rest in a shallow grave. The bad thing about it is he can't figure out how its happening.

I would get the clunking noise when I would really shift hard. I mostly noticed it when I let the clutch out fast. Its not good for the rear diff or the drive train at all. The key to driving an evo is to let the clutch out quickly and smoothly. As for the launching you dont ever want to just dump the clutch you will eventually kill your stock clutch or break something. The best way to launch an evo is get on the 2 step slip it a little until it engauges and then let it out quickly and smoothly like you would shift from 1st to 2nd.

Thats so weird that it would do it so violently. Really your transfercase can go out just by shifting? I never have that problem in my Sti.

Any AWD car will do it if you shift too hard. I think my car has done it once and it scared the crap out of me.

If yougun it from first gear, and try to shift it to 2nd quicky? evo hate that, because you put alot of load on the trans, (maybe im wrong) well either you launch the car or go smooth to 2nd gear otherwise it might grind. I dont see any problems gonig from 2nd to 3rd fast and from 3rd to 4th fast and ok from 4th to 5th. thats my expirience, yeah evo is no honda sry. First you need to drive the car for couple miles before you can even launch the car and feel the shifts, gl buying an evo.

btw that bang was the rear diff.. it means you did relase the clutch , while still holding the gas pedal.
