Can someone explain the launch control 2 step on IX
Can someone explain the launch control 2 step on IX
Can someone please explain how that launch control works on EVO IX. people call it 2 step, launch control, roll control... what does it do, how is it an advantage, how does it work?
Clutch in, throttle at WOT. Tach bounces off of rev limiter (stock 5500) slowly building boost. Release clutch, car violently jumps forward. Rev limiter can be lowered or raised through Ecuflash(free) or another flashing software (ecutek).
Why not search...
Launch control and 2 step are different. LOL @ people calling it roll control!
Seriously search.... help yourself and the EvoM community by not having 100000000 threads on the same topic. Lazyness at its finest.

Actually it's a feature that builds boost off the line without any engine load allowing you to leave the line from a stand still with + boost pressure.
The launch control does not bounce off the "rev limiter". You can prove this by taking it out of gear in neutral and revving it all the way up higher past the 5500 RPM mark and THEN it will be bouncing off the REV LIMITER. You can also run the car through any gear all the way up to eventually the rev limiter. Launch control, two step and the rev limiter can all be programmed into the ECU. Launch control sets the car in a designated RPM for a launch allowing for less room for clutch slipping error and + boost. Yes it will help alleiviate stress and unnecessary wear and tear on your clutch, transfer case, axels and transmission.
Some of these comments are hilarious.
