heel toe
^^^ good idea. i've gotten at least decent my way ( i can blip the accelerater and get a good match most of the time) so i figured i'd check out the other way. so far..... not very good. but i know i just need to practice practice practice and eventually i'll get the hang of it hahah

Hey Sasha, yeah, I was in the ST car this past season, it was cool seeing you guys out at some of the tracks. How crazy was Trois Rivieres, huh?!
Anyway, you guys coming out next season at all?

i know when everyone talks about heel-toe they always say to use the ball of your foot on the break and then your heel to blip the accelerater. it is then wrong if you do that opposite, using your heel on the break and using the ball of your foot or your toes to blip the gas pedal?

I don't heel/toe downshift. I bigtoe/pinkytoe downshift. I can only TRUELY heel/toe on cars with a hinged gas pedal. I love those. But heel/toe is just a term anyway. It doesn't need to be literally your heel and toes, just brake and gas at the same time.
yeah bumping an old thread.. decided to begin teaching myself how to heal toe, when thinking about it i want to blimp the throttle while braking and the clutch in.. the part that gets me is that your just bliping the throttle and releasing the clutch while your foot is only on the brake correct? (not releasing the clutch while your on the gas right?) kinda like your dumping the clutch with no accelerator?
Err... mostly.
Basically you want it to be VERY smooth when letting out the clutch and revving the engine. Your passengers shouldn't feel it (but they will hear it because the RPMs going up).
I can tell you, on the track and around town, it makes an incredible difference in cornering speed to be smoothly in the right gear before making the turn. The car isn't unsettled and because the RPMs are up, boost is on tap
As far as technique, I have Frodo feet, so I big toe-little toe like the poster above. Of course, with my new pumas that pull my feet tight, I have a little bit of a "foot stuck between pedals" issue, so I'm having to relearn the correct way to do it.

That.

Edit:
Well... it's That if you are hard braking... but it could be that you tap brakes, downshift and tear around a corner.... depends on what's going on.
I found it easier to practice straight line rev matching before heel-toeing...
