More a safety thing..the safety crew that shows up when your upside down (not recommended) do not want to have to waste the TIME breaking the glass to get you out! Pete

You know you're hard core when you have two tunes: 1 for the track with AC on and 1 for the track with AC off

interesting to think about. even if the rules state one thing everyone has preferences neways so... i dunno. id rather them up. kinda like askin the ms if she like the lights on or off? hahaha

like the op mentioned, what about lowering them all when autocross, this should lower the center of gravity no?

I think its safe to say its insignificant from a center of gravity point of view. Various road racing sanctions require windows down in the event they need to remove you from a burning car. The other reason is point bys and faster communication in the pits as most club racers dont have radios. Rally is a different story those boys keep em shut because they don't want to be poked in the eye with a tree branch? lol
