Yeah, I was just about to say the same thing. The windows defrost 10x faster with the A/C.

You guys risk seizeing up your AC compressor by not runninng it at least once a month.

I really am not worried about that as I intend to put the other belt back on every so often to spin it and keep everything happy

As for defrosting - like I said before the RS is sold without AC and that seems to work just fine

BTW - I took ALL A/C off my WRX and did not have any issues with that either

This mod is for those who either don't use the ac often/don't mind changing it frequently/or for the track.

Me personnally its a track mod and the colder outside the better as the track will be warm after a few hours. That mod would be great for track events.

Daily i'd most likely just use the underdrive setup and keep the AC... you never know when you'll need it.

I think the point was that if you want it you can have the extra power with an easy swap. Not that you should do this all the time and junk your AC.

Why not just underdrive the a/c compressor pulley and call it a day

I thought all of the USDM 04' RS Evo's came with A/C and not as an option? Al, do you have a US Mitsu part # for this A/C delete belt?

I don't have it with me - when you call the dealer - there are two fan belts listed - one for ALL '03 - '04 - and one for '04 - its the one that only applies to '04 that is the shorter one
