to dynoflash, please help?

I just had defi d gauges, boost, egt, and oil pressure installed. HKS hi power exhaust , 3" high flow cat, and the HKS rs intake. I feel like i lost power. My boost only goes up to 16lbs and never tapers. i tought stock was 19lbs and tapers to 16 lbs. I'm thinking it's the intake? don't know what to do. Do you think a reflash will help?. whats the turn around time if i get you my ecu by a monday, will i have it back on a wednesday.. also i want to buy the hallman boost controller from you do you still have them in stock. can you quote me a price for the the 2

Your problems stem from several areas

1 - tuning - the HKS RS KIT results in a super lean condition in the middle of the power band which in most cases results in very retarded timing

2 - boost - the stock exhuast has a flapper in the muffler which creates more boost through back pressure - installing the aftermarket exhuast actually slightly lowers the boost b/c of less back pressure

What you are seeing on your car is normal

The reflash and hallman combo will fix your probloems and get you into the 290 - 300 whp range. The reflash is $199 and the Hallman Pro (red or black in stock) is $90 - Fed ex standard return is $25 - total is $314 for both shipped - paypal@dynoflash.com or send a money order with your unit. Removal directions and address can be found at www.dynoflash.com - contacts page

Finally - I would also suggest you consider at the same time a Walbro 255 lphg fuel pump upgrade which snaps right into the stock location. This would give you a big saftey margin on your fuelo supply side. NOT required but recoemended - they retail for about $90 from vendors like Z1 auto and Groupe S. Make sure you get pat # 342.

The TTM flash does reduce boost taper - but can not adjust trhe boost

Best bet is I will set up the flash for the boost controller and then when you can get a MBC ! It will work fine in the mean time

When you send it enclose a note telling me if you want the tune with the MBC or without

Thanks

I had the same problem when I threw on my Turbo back and intake. Took it to Al, he did all the work and now Im running 21psi with a safe a/f and putting down over 300hp tp the wheels. Listen to the man he knows what he's doing. Fuel Pump makes a difference.

We prefer to have precise control over boost. On the stock set up - some make slightly more - some slightly less - its a crap shoot. Also the tapering is significant on the stock set up. The Hallman makes an almost ideal boost curve - just fading slightly towards red line. Trust me when I say its $90 well spent

befast: Take my word for it.................this will be a huge help for your problem. Al's reflash is well worth the money. After you get it back, you'll have that shizz eating grin on your face for days.

Also, do get a Hallman mbc to control your boost and the Walbro 342 fp and you'll have that grin for a while.

What works better, a MBC or an EBC, what are the overall different options. I have some idea but would like to be certain what additional options there are on an EBC. Is it worth the extra money or would a flash and a MBC do just as well.

Thanks

Once we found the Hallman MBC we really fell into the perfect Evo boost control system.

The HKS EVC V is also a great unit at 5 times the price and much more install effort - and ofers extra features and functions

AVOID The Greddy pro Fec B II at any cost !

The Hallman MBC does a great job of controlling boost but the only disadvantage is you occassionaly have to make slight adjustments to the boost level

They do make a levely "Evolution Pro" edition which I sell which includes a in cockpit knob and cable to adjust the bost level right from inside the car - a nice touch but harder to install and more $

Thanks for the Information, I was actually considering the greddy. What is the price on the EVO Pro edition and what is your opinion on finding the right people to install, I am in Washington state and havent looked into people to work on my car. Any advice on installers would be greatly appreciated from anyone in the washington state area.

Thanks,

Lance
