My experience with dynoflash..
My experience with dynoflash..
A while back i made a thread in the general forum outlining my thoughts on dynoflash, i had attended a dyno day and saw some things i did not like.. As time passed the events of that day stuck with me, and the more i thought about them the more i felt that Al was being pulled in about 100 different directions that day, so i started to see how his demenor was a little harsh.. I put my self in Al's shoes and started thinking i labeled him on the one and only occasion i had seen him do his work, and really wanted to see what ocurrs on a more one to one basis..
Fast foward to monday, i bought an evo which is basically a buschur stg 4 with, buschur fmic, etc and it is running a dynoflash with a utec on top.. I atually bumped into Al in an AIM Chatroom and we talked a little about a few thing.. No dirt was slung, and we talked in a very friendly manner. I asked Al why he had made those comments about my wrx not making power, and he said" I was having a rough day, and had been smelling exhaust fumes for 12+hours, and was tired" And he apooligezed, i was shocked how professional he was being and was happy we could talk civil to each other.. I then pm'd Al today to see if we could set up a dyno tune for my car, i want a nice safe flash for every day driving, then will take care of more agressive maps on the utec. He told me straight away he had no problems doing it, and wass happy i was giving him the chance to make me happy like he has the majority of his customers..
So if all goes as planned i will be going to Pruven Monday to get this flash done and will be sure to report back with my updated impressions. I have a feeling it is going to be alot more painless since it will not be 10+cars getting dynoed.
Also i just want to say to Pruven, going back to the original thread i had posted i had never in anyway meant any disrespect to you guys, i had stated that in the thread in the first place. I talked to Dan that day and he answered any questions i had, my problem was more with Al's behavior, but again after settiling down and stepping back from the situation i can say i probally would have acted the same way if not worse with the stress of 10+ evo owners breathing down my neck.
So I guess we will see how it goes and look for an Update monday night, hopefully. I am truley going into this with an open mind, and neither Al or I am holding any grudges..

I respect and appreciate the input and ideas of my fellow car hobbiests and racers.
On the last dyno day we really had too many cars - too little time for customer service and at the very end of the day I was becoming quite dizzy and ill from the carbon monoixde and spouting a ton of off color jokes and insults which I should not have been making.
The main thing is that I appreciate feed back and I learn from it and get better
Our goal is to make the tuning process both good for the car - but also fun for the car owner.
As a result, as mentioned, we have stopped with the dyno days as it was clear that we are unable to give the same level of customer attention and tuning when the cars are only an hour and a half apart. Its only when everything goes perfect that we can finish a car in an hour and a half and very often little problems arise that take some time to resolve. For a perfect example read my case study number 5 which I will be posting shortly - a 4 hour dyno adventure on one car !
In the future we will do one or two cars at a time only as I feel this gives me more time to work in a more relaxed manner and provide better customer attention.
On our road tuning days we are now allowing a full 2 hours per car to provide more time to deal with any issues that may arise.
Thanks Spec C and looking forward to tuning your car !

How cute
, J/K man good luck.
Hi All,
I'm glad things have improved towards the better! ... actually really excited! The EVO (and yes, WRX) is(are) just too much fun in a lot of areas to bicker over.
Spec's posts are really pretty good. He's pretty thoughtful and I've enjoyed following his posts from time to time ... bantering included. He represents an average 'customer' pretty well.
Cheers,
jcnel.

Well my results from today were somewhat dissapointing but i must say Al's attitude was not. For some reason my car just would not make power.. Al and Dan from pruven did everythng in their power to fix it and would NOT give up no matter how late, or tired they were.. I really want to thank Al, Dan, and his staff at pruven, for not holding a grudge and for treating us with respect.. Dan answered all my questions and really went out of his way to try and get me off the dyno with some respectable numbers..
I just wanted to publically thank you guys.. And i hope when i sort out whatever is wrong with my ride we can get a good daily driver map for me..
