Al Question About Cams and your Flash

Hey Al I recently Got a custom tune by u and its working great! I am about to do cams and I was trying to decide on what type to get. I am either going to run HKS 264/272 or 272/272. My only problem is that I have heard many complaints regarding the 272/272 setup about them having stalling and idle problems. When I have my car retuned by u can u tune it to get rid of those problems or do u recommend the 264/272 setup instead? I have also heard that in the end both combos make about the same power due to the way the 272/272 combo has to be tuned to have a livable idle. Thanks in advance.

264 / 264 is the only way to go with those HKS units - IMHO

with that said - he just today deveolped a new idel improvement modification which we will be testing in the next few weeks and which may help to restore a more liveable idel for those with the 272 who have a rough idel

al u said 264/264 is the only way to go with HKS, do u recommend JUN or Tomei cams instead? I know there is a fairly good price difference between them and the HKS ones pluse the need for new vavle springs, I am wondering with your tune how much more power would a set of JUN or Tomei cams make compared to the HKS? is it worth the money? Also why would 264/264 be better than 264/272? wouldn't that allow for more top end high RPM power? Thanxs

If you want to go with somehing agressive like the Jun or Tomei cams you will need a full stand alone ecu and loose the maf sensor
