Need a new exhuast........

What would you guys reccomend.

I have a Turbo-XS full catless exhaust. I love it and am very happy with it. However this past 3 weeks i racked up 11 non moving violations. 3 loud exhuast and 1 no-cat ticket. I put back on my front plate and want to change my exhuast so i dont draw more attention to my car. I need something that will make the same power as the TXS if not more but doesnt look as ricey and it has to be quiet. Also if it doesnt burn the back bumper that would be ideal.

or am i better off doing the stock exhuast with the cutout?

I think finding a good exhaust cutout system might be your best option. I dont see any way to get what you want. FWIW, I got the RnR 3in catback with magnaflow muffler. It doesn't burn the bumber at all, fits perfect, and Ive been pulled over twice and the cops both didn't say anything. Im running 2.75in downpipe and 3in catco highflow cat. Obviously I left 5-10HP on the table, but the stealthyness and lack of police attention is well worth it.

if i remember correctly the cut out was not as good as people thought it was. plus they always leak eventually. kind of a hack mod for a car as nice as an evo. al do you remember the gains of the cut out when we had that one on the dyno?

I would strongly recomend that you consider a high flow cat system along with the Buschur MAGNAFLOW muffler option

That set up even pleases the "old fart" contingent of my customers who crave a near stock like sound level in the car

IMHO the TX's stuff is very well made and performs great - but is just too dran loud ! What do you expect from guys who coined the moniker "RFL bov"!

BTW - at least on stock ecus - we have not seen great luick with the cut out devices. It seems as if they really throw off the a/f ratio and also in at least one case the location was too near the knock sesnor and also triggered knock action from the ecu from the noise

I am not prepared to give up on them though. With proper placement and set up they may be very effective

Muffler delete pipe and retention of the resonators will do just fine... Buchur makes 2.5" and 3".

The Fujitsubo that Willie had was quieter than stock, and with no cat too.
Couldn't say what HP loss from the TXS would be though, and probably tough to come by.

i havent had a problem with mine... there are some revisions with the QTEC that prevents it from leaking... get longer bolts so you can fit a gasket in the y-pipe and electronic motor... and use some gasket maker... i made 30+whp and 20+ tq with the cutout open compared to it closed

On top of being environmentally responsible, adding a hi-flow cat should solve your problems. You may be able to get the Buschur one with flanges, if not there are at least 5 or 6 companies that make flanged ones.

It WILL make your exhaust quieter, not sure how much, I mean it is called the RFL-Ti. You did know what RFL meant before you bought it right?

Obviously it will also cure your no-cat ticket problem.

The question is ... is the 10 horsepower more valuable to you than the environment, the tickets, and the hassle of being pulled? It wasn't for me so I started with the hi-flow cat.
