Tuning with Dyno Flash - case study # 10 - Member DKTOP

Member DKTOP has the following mods

HKS RS KIT Intake
3" exhuast w/ test pipe
Walbro fuel pump
Hallman MBC
AMS Tuning underdriven pulley
HKS BOV with recirculating kit

In this case we are not dealing with a car with extreme mods - just our basic every day type of street driven evo. The same car I tune day in and day out. I am posting this as a case study to show how hard work and long hours in tuning pays off with a smooth running and safe tune.

We are paying particular attention to this new crank pulley - in the past other brands have triggered knock activity

Here is our base flash - running a bit rich in this car - buit decent power - a typical safe through the mail flash

Step by step - slowly making "baby steps" to bring the curve in line

Note the significant power being made with a very rich a/f ratio

A little dip is left in the mid range and some timing adjustments to be made

Almost done - things falling in line

Decent power - a slight timing adjustment needed and the persistant dip at 5,000

Here is the final tune - totally flat a/f - smooth - knock free

To finish our day of tuning we will back this up with one more pull to verify that the tune is perfect and repeatable
