this is my set up, 272 in 264 ex, and it was just dynoflashed, well, mail in dynoflashed. To spool up faster you need air speed not airflow. The difference between is minimal. The 272 in and 264 ex gives you a better mid range and more top end. Low end is better than stock but not by too much. By having the 264 ex it allows the airspeed to be faster, therefore spool up is sooner.

What are you talking about ????
Why would you want a 272 intake and a 264 exhaust???
The 272 intake would make your car take longer to spool and the 264 Exhaust would give you less of a top end then the 272???
You must mean the other way around.
Because the way you stated that does not make any sense. I'm glad you have a dynoflash because your car would idle like **** with a 272 intake without it..
Sorry to sound rude I'm not trying to be but your choice of cams does not make any sense to me.

272 intake allows for more air to get in and the 264 ex allows the air to escape faster, therefore spooling up the turbine sooner. or Am i wrong with my deductions? If so please explain.
Air speed V.S Air mass?
My brother has the 264 combo, and i tear him up at the track.
The 272 in and 264 ex was the best set up recommended by my mechanic, he used to work a boost solutions b4 they closed.

To all the people with straight 264s did you notice a big diffrence after the install. I really dont want to lose any low end but would like more top end.
what would it read on the butt dyno on a scale from 1 to 10

I noticed a lot of power throughout the entire power band. I had mine installed minutes before my custom tune from Al. I already had a mail in flash so I'm not sure how much more power I made from just the cams, but after the tune and the cams my car felt so much more powerful. I would rate the cams a 8 on the butt dyno.

Just my personal experience.

Check this thread out, all they did is compare both set ups.

keep in mind all HKS cams 264 and 272s intake or exhaust ALL have the same lift, so really any difference is going to be minimal. The biggest differences are the idle and pull up top where the 272s are a little different in both. Both these cams work really well, and can be tuned for nice gains of around 30 hp or a little more.
