Question Mail In Flash + Walbro 255?

Al.. or anyone..

I'm sending in my ECU tomorrow for the mail in flash stuff..

I'm wondering if I should go ahead and get a Walbro 255 fuel pump with the flash.. I'm not sure if this part can be setup in the mail in flash or would it be better to wait for a custom tune?

Current mods are:

K&N Drop In
Catch Can
BR 3" Catback (DP & Highflow coming soon)
BR MBC @ 1.4bar
Plugs

It will probably be spring or so before I can get a custom tune but If it would be safer and wouldnt make the car run crazy rich I'd like to go ahead and get one.

thx for any help

I think Al prefers to tune cars with the pump. I know he suggested for me to get one. IT is a greater margin of safety.

Was yours just a mail in or a custom tune? Most of these case studies i'm reading are using the 255 but they are custom tunes :\

He doesn't sell them. Your going to have to order it somewhere else. I asked him to do the same thing when I sent my ECU in.

I strongly recomend the walbro pump on all evos - especially the ones which run higher than stock boost levels.

We have seen too many cases where the stock fuel pumps put out inconsisitant flow rates when they over heat which can lead to a dangerously lean condition

$90 is cheap insurance

I do NOT have any in stock - but many of the other vendors do !

Ok so will that effect the tune for my ECU any?

I guess what I mean is will you tune my ECU different with me having the 255 pump? I doubt I can get one here before Friday so I wasnt sure if the car would be safe to drive for a couple days using the stock pump if the tune was for the 255.

Thx for helping a noob I'm very impressed with some of the results you've posted!

Keep us posted on your results. Your setup seems rather similar to mine. I plan on waiting for a custom tune when Al comes here the first week of jan.

Will do. I don't have a dyno anywhere even near me but I can give you results from the butt dyno

It's gotten cold here so I'm sure the car will be a beast
