HKS or Jun cams?

Now I know that the Jun cams have a higher lift and are a little bit more aggressive where the HKS are a lot more reliable, but is there an advantage of one over the other when it comes to power?

I'm looking to do more road racing with the car, but that doesn't mean I want to get shutdown on the streets by some lobbin' *** V8s. I'm planning on running 272/272, but I can't figure out the exact difference between Jun and HKS.

Last time I checked, I beleive Al was runnung Jun in his car and personally, I think Jun has a lot of crazy cars for being a small tune shop compared to the HKS giants. I already have a second car so reliability isn't really a problem as long as I'm not having to find a new engine every 3 month.

I've also glanced at Tomei, but the 260 seem too small and the 280 are too rediculous. I can't even imagine what the 280 would sound like on the street. All the power would be at the top and wouldn't be much good for road racing.

Any advise would help.

Now I'm running your mail-in reflash right now, but I'm planning on getting a full custom tune when I drop the cams along with injectors, pump, and a turbo. Would you recommend the Jun over the HKS for other reason than reliability?

So, in other words HKS is the way to go. Thanks Al, I'll be giving you a call when all the parts begin to come in for a custom tune.

MR.S.Koyana is a tuner or a shop? I was actually looking to run either the EMS or the Power FC. I know both are proven ECU with the right tuners and I'm sure either or would work great for my EVO. I know a guy who's great with the Power FC and I think Al can do wonders with the EMS.

My car will not be my daily driver, but that doesn't mean I won't be driving it around because I'd be lien' if I did. It's hard to keep off the throttle now and I can't even imagine how much fun it's going to be when it's done.

Granted there are a lot of crazy EVOs out there already, but I just want to make sure everthing is done right. I'm aiming for a big track runner time attack EVO with street ***** to back it up.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Are those tomei 280's any good will motec m800 or ems tuning? Can Al tune the m800 system, i think it has an anti-lag sys, which might help ya out on the road course. what kind of power can they make with the gt2835 kit? what kinda power can u look at with jun 272's and the 2835 kit, from what i hear the GT-2835 kit from hks, adn the type r intercooler make a good all around road race kit because it spools quick and can be boosted pretty good. just a thought
