Have you spoken to the guys at ADC in Chandler or Dyno Comp about using their facilities for dyno tuning?

nevermind, saw your previous post. I would recommend getting the deposit in ASAP, it will happen just as long as we get the deposits in (egg before the chicken)I know for sure we have 3 in and with yours and my 'family connection' we will have 5plus I know of 2 other people who want to get in and will likely get their deposits in before Friday.
Alright here is the deal I got, for those who want it, and if Al is willing
. We can get time at DynoComp on Saturday February 5th, as a group rate for $55 for 3 pulls (if you just want a baseline and post tune results) or for $155 you can have the dyno for 1 full hour to have the tuning done by the master himself. Please give me some feedback on this ASAP as we would need to figure out a schedule for those wanting it and not wanting it and make the appropriate arrangements with Al and DynoComp

Personally, I prefer to tune each car for a full 2 hours and doing multiple pulls which is why I do not like dyno tuning - particularly on 91 octane. In manmy cases the loading on the road is different than the loading on the dyno and it takes famililarity with a particular dyno to discover how it can be used to accurately replicate real world conditions. In most cases, when custom tuning we are taking base maps which have been developed over a year of dyno testing and development and fine tuning them to match a particular car ON THE ROAD to provide a adequate margin of saftey and a smooth power band. Especially on 91 ocatne the actual whp generated is often less revlevant than the a/f, knock counts and timing.
Dynos are great but its hard to justify the additional expense of a full two hours of dyno time to properly tune a car. So called "tuners" who are conducting dyno days with 10 - 12 guys spaced one hour apart including time to strap and unstrap the car are really turning tuning into a catle car mentality. Personally, I am unable to achieve a tune which I am happy and satisfied with in 4 or 5 dyno pulls. (Which is the most you can get in with proper cooling down between runs and straping and unstraping cars when they are spaced an hour apart).
Everyone has his / her own approach and the road tuning is with ou ta doubt the best approach for me on 91 octane.

Glad to have you guys aboard
, I knew there were some guys out there who wanted to get some real tuning done (even if I have to talk to you until you signed up just to get me to shut up
). I just wanted to let everyone out ther know that there is a dyno day tomorrow at DynoComp, it is $50 for 3 pulls and would be a great opportunity to get some baseline number before Al comes and works his mojo
on your car. Also If you guys can't make it tomrrow morning/afternoon to DynoComp, a bunch of us will be at the Pavillions tomorrow at around 5pm till 9pm and we would love to meet you guys in person, plus it would be the first real Evo presence that place has ever had. PM me if you need directions. Look forward to seeing you guys soon!
