Question for AL

Hey Al just got off the phone with you, this is Allen out in Colorado. Quick reminder my current mods are B&B TBE w/cat delete pipe, walbro, hallman mbc, and your mail in flash. Made excellent power last weekend 316 hp and 351 TQ on AWD dynojet. My question for you is the guys at this local shop were recommended that I stay away from the 272's and 280's at this altitude (denver 5800 ft) and stick with the 264's? Is this true? Next they strongly recommended cam gears as well, do you? And finally they were preaching about ams 780's and a fuel rail on the stock turbo?? Basically I want to go cam's of some sort, maybe intake, custom tune if you come out (or mail in flash), and the injectors sound good. If you had $1500 to spend on parts what would you do next; most bang for the buck. Thanks allen

I personally prefer the 264 cams and no cam gears

Cam gears can tone down the boost hit on max tq and move some power to the top end - not needed IMHO

Fuel rail is a waste

680 Buschur injectors are my favorite and more than enough

There are some guys arranging a trip out that way now - lets see

So you would go 264's, injectors, and intake?

You'll have to forgive Al for not getting back to you quckly. He is road tuning in Utah this weekend.

IF MHO helps, what you quote here is a good mod path to go with what you have.

264 cams
Intake - Al will probalby tell you to get Buschur filter and Pipe, or the HKS RS.
injectors - while not absolutely necesary, they will help keep the duty cycles down at WOT.
And of course - the tune to account for these new items.

Happy modding

Yeah I agree, I think I want 780 injectors though. Reason is I plan on going GT30R this summer from someone.

Hey AL just had two more questions, is the intake worth the money or am I better off spending it on something else? I want injectors are 780's going to be ok? I do plan on doing a turbo upgrade this summer so I would rather go bigger now than buying injectors again. Finally do you have any dates for the Colorado trip yet, because I will put my deposit down if I know when you are coming (will be out of town for work). thanks much allen
