We had a list for a while. It kind of died out. I guess Al's been kinda busy lately because he sure ain't responding much these last few days. I'm still on the fence. I'm willing and able, but I want to see if we can actually get a date.
Any progress on dates? I finally picked up some cams and am eager for Al to make his trip to the Phoenix area. I know he was planning a Tucson trip, but damn - that's too far to drive! Should we start a new thread?
I just want to give some tips out about group tunning with Al. We had a nice group tunning on the 10th and the 11th May here in Tucson.
From our experience and for your own benefit:
please order your stuff ahead(boost controller, alcohol kit, etc)
have them install properly
double check for silly leaks
choose a great location in Phoenix so that there is low traffic or no traffic at all, the less traffic, traffic lights and stops signs the more time Al will spend in your tunning and above all the more safe you will be
Definately DO not miss the tunning appoinment(this is so important, it will disrupt the schedule tunning significantly)
As per arranging the actual reservation, be clear and specific on exactly how many people total want to tune their car, prearrange your schedule times before you send the final list to Al.
i.e:
John allen 1000am to 1200pm etc, etc
David smith 1200pm-1400pm etc, etc
Confirm with Al that all of you have sent the money and that you have a positive account of all of you guys.
I have seen Al custom road tunning, he is the $hit, he can basicly plug all the conectors and type on the lap top with his eye close however if you have silly *** boost leaks because you did not hook up the boost controller correctly, or if you have some race gas left in the tank but wish to have it tune to 91 oct, and stuff like that will make Al's tunning miserable. Don't bring your car in reserve, plan ahead.
Don't bother Al much while he is downloading the software, he is pure concentration.
A small list of your mods on paper will help you to account all your mods
Be specific, don't tell him that you have 262 cams when you have 272's, filter panel when you have a cone filter, etc, etc
If your car is lowered too much with coil overs be kind to bring a few wood 2x4" so that Al can slide his ramp underneath to install the wideband.
Last tip, you guys should assign someone(like we did) to collect all the money and send one single PAYPAL transfer, this is a trust issue, I hope you guys know each other a bit( Tucson Evo owners knew each other very well, we were like 9 or 10)
With Al tunning and HKS 264/264 cams my car went from steady 13.2 to 12.4s in the 1/4 mile. Indeed the best money I ever spent on making my car running safer ,faster and more driveable. I am very happy.

Heheh, its funny I remember last time we organized it didn't take half as long as this to get him down here or confirm on a date. Where's Dustin when we need him! This is pretty crazy...
Thanks for taking the time to write this!

You were the $hit with the Tucson guys, we were very very happy. I am re-tuning my car with you again, this time I am adding:
Alcohol Injection kit(the one that you sell)
Headers
Lower IC pipes and upper IC pipes
and last but not least the Works O2 Housing
Your tunning was just fanstastic, I want to reiterate that is indeed the best money I ever spent on modding my car (your tunning).
When I post my times on the forums people can really tell the difference that your tunning made to my car.
I am doing an inquiry locally (in Tucson) because since the tunning sesion and from people watching me running at the local track some EVO owners and WRX owners did asked me a lot about my mods and tunning. Some of this guys are up for a tunning sesion, I just want to make sure that they are serious about it.
I hope to see you back in July.
Carlos with the Silver MR (the last guy you tuned on your Tucson trip)
This goes for everyone:
Here I copied and pasted my Evolution 8 evolution as far time track goes:
Mods: cone air filter, Works downpipe,Greddy Evo catback,Works 3"HF cat, car weighted 3226lb with just under half tank (without me)
