New Boost controlling Dyno Flash - dyno sheet

Here is a 2004 RS with new boost controlling flash

Mods were Apexi intake filter - 3" turbo back exhuast

as you can see on the base pull the intake was grossly leaning out the a/f ratio and causing a overly lean condition - we terminaed the pull easly as it was knocking. Remember - when you change to afremarket intakes they have the effect to distort the mass air flow sensor air flow and they alter the a/f ratio reading of the sesnor. This results in an overly lean a/f ratio and detonation which triggers knock induced ignition retard. Lean a/f and retarded ignition timing equals a very high egt and low power. Also not the best for engine reliability.

Our tuning runs much richer - adjusting the mass air flow sesnor to the selected intake and incresing timing - low egts and loads of tq.

The a/f on the final product is much richer and holding a perfect 20 psi tapering to 19 with just the ecu controlling boost

Final dyno sheet - boost is not as perfectly razor solid as with a hallman MBC - but its very very smooth and on the road the car felt very fast. In fact the car felt a lot faster when it was on the road than the dyno sheet would indicate - but a 47 plus whp gain is very decent for just a flash !

These numbers are no joke. I own this 04 RS that is represented here, and built it with the flash in mind. The intake is actually a filter from an AEM intake with the stock pipe. The AEM is made poorly, and I felt the pipe was only going to be worth a small amount of power. I will upgrade that in the near future now that I know it will help. The important thing with this is remaining at stock boost levels. I am regulated as to what mods are allowed by the SCCA for the class that I autocross in. My class dose not allow raising the boost. I told Al I wanted to stay at 20PSI which is the stock limit, and he controlled only the taper, If I am correct, and was able to get me close to 300WHP on pump gas. The car is now DAMMMMM FAST for the mods I have and Runs with better drivability than stock. AL YOU KICK ***.

What is different between the "new" and old way you were controlling boost curves? Its kinda hard to see, you only tapered 1psi towards redline? Can we expect to see this minimal taper in situations with more than stock boost?

Those numbers look soo good BTW I want it really bad

The boost tapers a bit more than that. The difference between the old version Dyno Flash is that now we can acutaly dial in a specific boost level where as before we only delayed taper

how about adding walbro255 fuel pump w/open intake? since fuel pump adds more fuel?

I was going to try to pass this mod off in ESP, but my need for even more power has over come me. I will be contacting Al to flash the car again with bigger numbers in mind The exhaust system on the car is the Megan Racing Downpipe,Cat delete pipe, and exhaust. I`m a megan dealer and I can say that the Megan system is the best bang for the buck out there. If anyone wants one of these systems please contact me. I will meet or beat any legit price.
