just got custom tune......question

I just got custom tuned in ATL this past saturday, and Al told me i need a new fuel pump to make more power. Thats cool, but I was really thinking about ordering some GSC 272/264 cams tonight, along with a Walbro 255. My question is, would it be ok to install both of those and just get a through the mail reflash (since they are free now) until he comes back in town, or should i just wait to install those so they can be custom tuned?

you could send it in...the same thing happened to me, but I have just been waiting on the fuel pump since its my daily driver. The cams are decent with a little lopy idle, but don't need to be tuned. The fuel pump needs to be tuned however, so I'm waiting until Al is back in a month. I would send it in, but not really an option for me.

I've asked, he'll tell you to send it in, but then get another custom tune when he's in town

yeah, or you can just put the cams in and then wait until he's about to be back to put in the fuel pump. that way there is no down time on your car. its up to you, but right now its my daily driver, so thats the route I took

I had the fuel pump for over a month before I got tuned Sat. and the car ran just fine. I still got the same mileage too.

I would say it is more important to get a tune after cams then after a fuel pump. I am in the boat of putting straight 272's in now and waiting for him to come back here so he can give me a free cam update for my custom tune.

I ran for a couple of months on the walbro fuel pump as well. Car ran fine. The cams were only in for a day before I was tuned for them though.

Do you hear the fuel pump whine?? Is adding a fuel pump worth it? I thought that the stock was good for like 330 whp or so
