Clutch????

Im having these issues on my (at the moment) stock 03 with 23k miles on it. I just recently bought it with 18k on it and it seems fine until a couple weeks ago. If i hammer the gears out the box i have no noticable issues.... BUT... if i am rollin in 4th @ 3000 or so.. and i hit the gas .. once i see about 1 bar..(14-15 psi) i get a jump in rpm (like 2-3 hundred). Its like the clutch is totally slipping.

My issue for one is.. why not under load all the time is my clutch not slipping if it truely is the clutch....?? I know these clutches suck donkey ***** but it doesnt seem consistant to what i have had prior in other cars when the cluth is going.

What clutch is the best buy out there for overall price and performance. I dont need to go stage IV but prolly III. I am puttin on 3" turbo back(catless) intake, UIC piping and the 5th gettin a custom dyno flash.. oh and also the walbro 255HP fuel pump.. I need the clutch good for 300whp pretty much.

Thanks for any feedback

What did you suggest? I'm shooting for those numbers as well and I'm sure my clutch will be going soon as I taught myself how to drive a manual on this clutch. I'll never forget that clutch smell I got while practicing my hill starts. lol

ACT Street is the way to go so i've heard from plenty if your not goin nuts on the car. I just put my mods on (minus the custom tune) and totally fried the clutch.. cant even see 1 psi without slipping totally. So now im a grandma with a loud exhaust. Guess ima order one pronto.. just no time to put it on.. i called the dealer and they want like 7 hundo for JUST labor.. anyways.. i need it done pronto and i dont have time to have the car down at the moment.. so looks like im up a creek.. without a paddle..

I personally prefer the Exedy Twin Disk

yeah the Exedy Twin is where its at (the centered inertia flywheel and twin discs provide lightning quick, flawless shifting).

For half the price you can have a 497 ft/lb capable ACT street kit AND a PS 10.5lb chromoly flywheel that offers excellent engagement as well when compared with the Exedy.
