Tuning Tips for Alcohol Injection??
Anyone care to share some tuning tips for alcohol injection? This is for those of us running standalones or piggybacks.
1. Does alcohol injection allow you to run more advance?
2. What PSI should it be set to come on?
3. Straight methanol or denatured alcohol?

I'm STILL trying to get this information.......
I've finally gotten the alky kit installed correctly on my car for over a month now and have YET to be able to use it. As it stands, when I turn it on I actually lose power since it makes me run so rich. I'm not comfortable trying to tune my PowerFC on my own so I'm at the mercy of tuners still..... I know, I shouldn't whine about it, it's just that I'm getting a little impatient.
From speaking to a few knowledgeable people.... (David Buscher, Dynoflash and a few others....) the tuning strategy seems to be this:
Set the progressive controller to start spraying at about 18 psi and to max out just over 25psi.
Turn up boost pressure to approximately 25 psi, Tune for between 10.7 and 10.9:1 when the alcohol starts spraying.
You'll then be able to start advancing timing. As far as doing this without a dyno, I think it would probably be dangerous, but I'm sure that there are people out there who have done it.
I don't know enough yet about my standalone to attempt any of this on my own. It's pissing me off, but I'd rather not take a chance of grenading my engine just to say that I did it all on my own.
BTW, I'm using ( or will be using.... it's already in the resevoir....) a 50-50 mix of methanol and distilled water.
Don't know if this was any help, but I figure the more people that share their knowledge, experiences and situations, the sooner this will be more commonplace and SAFER.

2. - Depends on your mods, goals and fuel being used and the characteristics of your alcohol kit.
3. - I run methanol on my car. I tuend a guy with 50% water today who ran just as strong as 100% methanol for his mods. Both will run the same - just depends on your personal preference.

I went to but Methanol today and I had a choice of 100% pure Methanol or a product called hot shot which has some go fast additives mixed in. This was at a kart shop and the guy told me that at least with the kart engines the hot shot makes more HP. So much so that it is illegal to use in a sanctioned event. I bought the pure methanol but I was interested if anyone knows anything about this product.
