Just got flashed

Just got flashed

hey AL i just got the mail in flash back for my 05 EVO MR and let me tell you that thing kicks ***, I love it. I could tell the power gain as soon as i drove it, Thanks man. I'll put it on the dyno soon and post the results.

Quick Question......

would a flash help me at this point...
I have Ams Stage 1 - 2- and 3 with MSD ignition Alky kit tuning with an AFC right now thinking of going to a piggy back ECU or AEM EMS system..... can you help?

I just got mine too, it's awesome. But the boost acts kind of wierd, it spikes, tapers down, then spikes again, then tapers. Not really a complaint, just an observation, since a friend with an identical 05 RS had it flashed a month or so ago and it does not do this. Light throttle situations seem to be much more torquey.

I got mine today also, so far I only drove my car from my house to work durring lunch (about 2 miles). I'll give it a better test tonight, might even go to the night drags.

Although the short drive I had did seem to feel faster and smoother.

A flash would help without a doubt over the safc. I would prefer a AEM vs a piggy back but you have to realize that extensive tuning is needed to get a good running car.

I kind of have the same problem, but running a Hallman MBC. It will spike up to 21, then taper to like 19.5-20, then move a little bit back up towards 21. Nothing drastic or anything... It did occur to me that I may have lifted off throttle slightly, but I have seen this happen before. I am debating on whether or not to leave in the MBC when I get flashed next week. I would much rather have my boost set in my ECU by Al than have to keep adjust my MBC under the hood.

Al, are you still regulating boost through falshes for those who don't have MBC's or EBC's? I remember a few months back your posting that you could do that to hold some pretty consistant boost pressures.

Yes he is, mine holds boost better than before but instead of a quick spike with a large taper, now it has a long spike, with a small taper, then a spike again and small taper. Overall the boost is higher for longer than stock, but it does not "hold" like it would with a MBC.
