Car has started stumbling and backfiring at WOT after tuning/custom flash.

Car dropped rpms around 5000 in 3rd gear. Now I've noticed it stuttering at WOT. Any thoughts as to why this might be happening? Thanks.

sounds strange...i've only heard of that kind of problem with maybe a vta bov. but i don't think that's the problem. Check your spark plugs just in case.

I was wondering the same thing... I bought new plugs but wasn't sure whether to replace them before or after the tune.

He MAY need new plugs - just my diagnosis. The car was running perfectly both on the dyno and on the road after the tune. Often, boost leaks develop and other mechanical issues which can effect the way a car runs.

In this case - he drove like 4 or 5 hours to tune tune with parts on the car that he was not tuned for - (cams) so the car was prob running rich which may have fouled the plugs, read MAY.

The proper diagnostic steps in his case are :

1 - Change spark plugs

2 - do a bost leak test

3 - do a compression test

How much boost are you running?

Check the gap on your plugs and try gapping them to .024 or .025
