Nope. I have a 2005 with the HKS SSQV and it surges like crazy if I VTA. Even recirculating it's a but lurchy. I'm hoping Al can tune some of it out.

 

There is really no way to tune around a bad BOV - its a matter of the mass air flow sesnor not getting an accurate reading. The HKS BOV sounds good and looks good but it runs like dog turds. I like the Forge and the JDM MR version bov.

 

Al I just seen the thread and was wondering if you have anymore times open.

Any BOV that vents any air to the outside is going to mess up a MAF sesnor equiped car - it has to re-cirulate

VTA is purely a sound issue

We can get you done on Saturday - typically on that dyno the tunes get finsihed very qucikly as Top Speed is tops in straping and unstrapping cars

If need be I can do a road tune for you on sunday - I am free all day

I would suggest you come by on Saturday mid day and we'll get you in - your call

I had it also and it cause the same problem. I even got the evo specific one, made for 04-05 evo 8. But there is also a controversy. Looking at the stock and the HKS, the HKS by the directions is installed backward. When you install it just like the stock one is install, boost levels will not pass 11psi, maybe a MBC can fix that.

 

Leavin out early in the morning. I hope Topspeed has some methanol for sale.....Im in need for some. Al is gonna be mad at me because of my crappy tires also...lol. I will be VERY scared to take that test drive with Al this time....my car will be so much more powerful than last time......look forward to seeing everybody there!
