Intake, is it really worth it
Intake, is it really worth it
I am getting a custom flash soon from Al, and I was wondering if I should bother adding an intake to the car. Mods are (or will be by the time of the flash) as follows: 264/272 GSC cams, EBC set at 21 psi, fuel pump, 3" TBE with test pipe, greddy Type-S BOV.
Will an HKS intake yield more HP, or should I just snag a K&N drop-in filter.
Thanks,
Nathan

I had the K&N panel filter and butt dyno said it made some power.
Changed it out to an RMR intake for the "cool bov noise" and it also made power according to a real dyno, dynojet.
Now I'm running the Injen intake kit for the super "cool noise" and the hard pipes it comes with. Got a reflash for it and with other mods, I feel the car makes more power than previous stage. Won't know how much until I get back on the dyno, but I'm not doubting.
I wouldn't say it's "not" worth it, it just depends on what you like better. The open intakes will make more noise v.s stock box, but with proper tuning... everyone will tell you the same... they all make power, as long as you tune it right.
