hot weather = hard breathing 6000-7000rpm?

My car is 100% stock except mail in dynoflash. I just had the dealer install a new O2 sensor (warranty work).

anyway...the car still seems like it is totally out of breath from 6k-7k on hot days.... but this morning it seemed fine (65F).

is that normal? It has been so long since I had it dynoflashed that I don't remember what it was like stock.

No check engine lights have appeared since the new o2 sensor was installed.

thanks

it didn't do it this morning, but did do it at lunch, so it must be the warmer weather......

I don't remember it doing this last summer, but I can't remember.

should I have it reflashed with the newer V3 boost flash?

My car is stock and I notice it runs out of breath at higher rpms when the weather is hot and humid. There is a pretty big difference in my car in the morning drive to work 60 deg and the home drive at 85 deg.

thanks for posting! I guess since I have just that one modification my car is pretty much the same as stock. Wonder if the more modified cars are like that?

I wonder of the dealer installed the 0300 code flash on your ecu when it was in for the warrantty work - ask them if they did that it would erase the flash and I would need to re-install it - free

how do i ask that without drawing some kind of suspicion of modifying the car???

Maybe I will just buy an exhaust and put my drop in filter back in and have you reflash it anyway....

this morning it was 65F and it ran strong to the redline in 1st - 4th gear so it is definately a weather issue..... I am ordering a Works Exhaust muffler (i think) so i will just have Al reflash it for that anyway, and get the update V3 boost and overide the 0300 thing if that is an issue.

hi scot!

you need water injection, my friend! i run straight water, and even when it is super hot out (90+), with the water on, it just pulls and pulls. i am running al's new V3 flash, without any other form of boost control.... it is my own design water injection kit; i have it set to start spraying at 12 psi, which seems to be perfect for me. if i disarm the water, it doesn't pull as smoothly or as strong up top, especially in this super hot weather we have been having....

since it has been so damn hot, i have been leaving the water armed all the time, and driving "normally" it is using about 1-1/2 to 2 qts of water per tankful gas;

i hope you enjoy that new Works muffler; i was a cheapskate and simply deleted my rear muff and installed a straight piece of pipe; mmmmmm love that burble

see you at beaver run!

Oh right, right I heard you talking about the while back....I didn't know there was a special name for it! What PSI can you control it to? Is this something you can run w/ alky or would you still need to run a mbc?
