wow all of you guys are right on the money, if you only knew. yes my car threw a cel for maf, and yes i had it fixed the day after. so no it is not my maf, and it is not timing because the car shows good timing through my pocketlogger setup. now what al is not telling you is how many times i tried reaching him about my problem and how he never got back to me or how many times he told me to call him back. i know that he is a busy man but when he shows up a few hours late to his appointment with a paying customer, and then talked **** aboout how it is driver error at the tracks while i was not there to defend it. all i wanted was to vent my problems with his service to me so maybe he could find some time to fit in a paying customer but of course it all leads to bs again

thank you, at least someone understood where i was trying to go with this. all i am really looking for is the support of the tuner because that is all i can lead the issue to. maybe if someone could point me in another direction than a tuner then it wouldnt be on al.

I always tended to think that was common sense, but I guess not.

Oh, and Ps, Al gets paid to TUNE cars. NOT to diagnose problems. If he helps you out with some diagnosis work, it's because he's trying to help you. If you need problem diagnosis, go to the dealer.
you are right al does get paid to tune cars, but when he tells you that you can come down whenever so he can strainghten out my problem then he gets paid to diagnose problems. maybe you should have thought about that first.

oh and if i had blown a ring then i wouldnt blame it on him, that has nothing to do with his tune, and my car was running fine when it was brought to him, it threw a code while it was there.

Maybe someone should skip buying mods and having their car tuned and purchase a factory service manual, scan tool and go take some night classes at the voc tech........THEN come complain on the open forum after you brought a car that had minor issues to get tuned, and were unhappy with the aftermath
hehe I love free scans from autozones. I do it on all of my cars (including german) if I get the stupid CEL lights.

Totally off-topic but 2 window regulators broke so the windows won't go down for the passenger front and rear and the stealership quoted me $900 to fix it.
You just got to love german cars.

Its kind of funny how Al gave the original poster a free diagonis but somehow Al still got blamed for the car not running 100%.

I did think it out. Did he tell you "Give me xxx amount of money and I'll fix whatever problem it is?" If he did that, he's getting paid to diagnose and fix your problem. If he said "bring it down whenever to get your problem straightened out", then he's helping you because he wants to.

Wouldn't you think that maybe there's an underlying problem if it threw a code while it was there?

Maybe I should explain more.... As Al said, if your mas air meter isn't running what it should be, then your tune WILL be off. It's like trying to tune with a dead o2 sensor. The engine parameters won't be correct. The whole "rings" thing was just a for instance sort of statement.

Al, on an aside, if you're still checking this thread-Im gonna bring my car to get it built and install my turbo kit in a short amount of time. Would you be willing to tune my AEM EMS? Just curious. Keep on truckin, killer. Dont listen to this horse$hit, its getting tiresome.
Sure I can help you with the EMS - thanks
