Do I Need Fuel Injectors for the Following Mods?

Hey,

I have the following mods going on the car within the next 2-3 weeks.

My question is, do I need upgraded fuel injectors? And if so, what size should I go with?

- TME (10.5) turbo
- Forced Performance upgraded wastegate actuator
- Alcohol injection (100% methanol)
- HKS dli-2 ignition amplifier
- Turboback exhaust (cat-delete)
- HKS 272/272 cams
- Arp headstuds
- Injen intake
- Injen upper ic piping
- 2.5" lower ic piping
- TurboXS fmic
- Hallman mbc
- HKS ssq bov
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump

I'm aiming to hit the 400whp/400wtq mark, or get as close as possible on 93oct with Al's Dynoflash.

Two questions:

1. What spark plugs should I go with?

2. Will I need bigger injectors?

Thanks in advance!

NO, not until a BIGGER turbo. I have the TME and Meth, stock injectors!

Vishnu recommended NGK plugs, with a .024 GAP. they are .030 out of the box.

and do you guys think a 3" o2 housing and a aftermarket manifold will yield me bigger gains? Or atleast help with the spoolup time?

No. I hear/read that the aftermarket manifold can actually Cost you HP. The o2 housings I heard/read the HP gains are negligble. (not worth the money for the minute HP gains.)my 2c

Im no expert but Im pretty sure both will give you gains and better spool up time but I think you should wait until Buschur does his manifold test to see what the "true" gains (or losses) really are.

From what I remember reading he's testing the RnR, DC, stock, and stock ported manifolds.

ahhh.. thanks guys

I think i'll wait till Buschur finishes testing hehe..

Back to the spark plug question though, which NGK plugs should I run?

Right now i've been running the NGK BPR7ES plugs, but I heard I should go one step colder, w/the methanol. So which plug would be the colder one?

thanks

The hp gain vs. cost on the header and O2 housing are going to be very poor. I'm not saying they won't gain hp, but its going to be small if they even do, and you'll spend alot of money there you could have spent elsewhere to yield more power. Plus in a place like Chicago, those highly visable shiney parts will cost you many many spots when negotiating a race!

I would suggest a set of cam gears at this point. Properly set, they can gain anywhere from 5-15 hp and they cost ALOT less than a header does. You've got all the other bases covered it seems.

At this point you shouldn't need injectors yet. As you reach the 400 whp mark, you should be getting pretty close to the limit of the stockers though. They are 560cc and should support over 400 whp, but some cars will reach 100% duty cycle earlier than others so be prepared to throw a set in the car if that does happen.

I'm betting you'll need injectors. I have mild mods(tbe, mbc, uicp/licp, Helix intake, 255 pump, Buschur fmic), no cams, tuned around 11.5:1 and I'm at about 98% idc! Another Evo local to me is at 99% idc with nothing but tbe, mbc, 255 pump, Injen intake, cams, and meth injection.
I wonder how many people that say their stock injectors are fine actually log their idc.
