2005 my Year in Review - thanks EvoM
Tonight I was at my wife's office holiday party and it started me thinking about the past year and all that has happened since last's years wife's holiday office party.
I was also thinking how deep I have gone into the automtive / tunner / racer lifestyle that it starts to become very difficult to have anything to discuss with people who dont also have an Evo. All my friends and people i talk with every day are fellow Evo owners, all i think about is tuning and working on evos and when I have spare time its time to get to work on my own Evo.
First - I want to remember Mark M who's hard work and vision created this web site and who we sadly lost in this year. My thoughts go out to him. Also I pause to remember all armed forces members who have this year paid the ultimate sacrfice in defense of this great country. Finally, a word of thanks to all military personel seperated from family and friends over this holiday season.
This year was a year I will never forget. Without the continued loyal support of the customers of Dyno Flash I would not be able to accomplish any of my goals so I say thanks to each and every one of you. I work long hours day and night to try and make this product the best it can be but without you the customer I would not be here so thanks for your support.
I started the year with the Evo Envy 2 article in Turbo magazine and a 9.98 second pass down the track this spring at Englishtown.
My car made it to the Primedia Booth at SEMA IAS in Atlantic City which was a huge honor and out to Vegas for the SEMA show in the Exedy booth in the fall
My car was featured in Turbo Magazine two times this year - Evo Envy 2 & 3. I wrote several artciles including a cover story on the Big Valley Subaru, an article about a 10 second Evo from Puerto Rico an article about alcohol injection and an article on Ecu flashing for Evos in the current Turbo Magazine.
At the track this year my car dominated the field of Evos drag racing and I finally achived my long standing goal to win the Evo class at the DSM shootout. I won a few other races listed in my signature also.
Most inportantly, my customers kicked some major *** this year using my product. The highlight was Car # 5 of Bill Ziegler which finished the entire SCCA National Championship Run Offs at Mid Ohio in 5th place.
So many innovations in my product were made in 2005 it was a very productive year. The V3 boost controlling flash was perfected. Also the 10 chanel data logging system has been implimented giving the recent tunes such great accuracy and precision. The two step rev limiter was something which took me months of trail and error. Finally - the new IX reflash has been a huge project which has consumed a huge amount of my time and money to get working - its nice to have it all sorted out for the begining of the new year.
Perhaps the biggest accomplishment of the entire year has been my opportunity to work with David Buschur on the ecu tuning on the new BR 330 and BR 350 Evo IX cars. I just spent 3 days on the dyno at Buschur just working on refinement of the boost control alone. These BR cars are really amazing machines and reflect David's 15 years of DSM experience and represent some of the best upgrade "packages' you will find on any car in the world.
I don't know what I can do in 2006 to top 2005 but I feel that the IX is going to bring us some very exciting developments on the tuning front in the new year.
At Pruven we have already taken apart a IX engine and found some significant advances by
in the head and block. The coolant passages have been revised to allow cooler head material near the exhuast ports and this has allowed the IX to be much more detonation resistant than the 8. Combined with the amazing new turbo and a vastly imroved ecu the IX represents the cutting edge of automotive design. The potential for power has me very excited. Right now we are building a car for a customer with the Buschur stroker short block in a Evo IX with the new Evo IX Dyno Flash. I predict that the results on this car will be huge.
With my car I have already purchased a new turbo manifold and GT42R turbo. I am going to take the car to Ohio to have David Buschur make me up some new pipes and see what happens. The saftey rules for 2006 are going to be very serious in NHRA and NOPI races so I may stick to the various evo and evo vs wrx style races next year.
Thanks to all the sponsors of my Evo whithout whom it would never have been possible to get my car to the track all year long

Glad to be a part of it all with you now, Al. I think 2006 will be an even better year for you, and I look forward to being a part of that as well. Congrats on all your accomplishments, and thank you for providing such an awesome product.
Al,
You also deserve some kudos for your contribution to our daily enjoyment in our cars. I love the job you did to my car because it is fun to drive whether in or out of boost. Congrats on a great year and yes you will get my business when I get my 9.

No doubt that you increased quality of your tunnings 200%. We now have the two step launchers, now we have the EVO 9 reflashes and last but not least your tunnings are even better and more accurate.
The idea of being able to send a ECU for reflash is very original and reliable as well, people love that.
I predict 2006 is going to be another great year for you. More EVO9 owners will realize how fast they can be with your tunning.
Keep up the good work!!

I can't wait to get my ECU back and experience the full power and joy that my car has/can give me! Thanks Al.
On a side note. Would tempeture matter at all in his tune for me? I forgot to mention that I live where it's below 0 everyday from Jan to about March and only around 80-90 in the summer months.

It was a pleasure to be custom flashed by you Al, and I'm definitely not finished in that respect as I'll be doing upgrades over the next few months, so expect to be coming back down to the SE sometime early next year. As well as ordering my Forge RS BOV from you in the next week or so! Thanks and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

+1 Well said. I'm a new customer but I have a pretty good first impression indicator. When I spoke with Al the other day on the phone I knew I had called the right person to tune my Evo. Happy Holidays Al! - Dan
