Another Q for AL about idle problems

Hello Al...

Remember my previous post about my car problems at idle every time I stop... Maybe there was a misunderstanding before or maybe I mis-stated my problems... The problems are at idle, not when I stop, well when I stop, my car goes to idle and there is when the problem start.

I followed your suggestion and changed the BOV for a recilculating one, with no luck..!!

Now, I found what could be the source of the problem (maybe)... well , after watching my car behaviour for a couple of days, I noticed that the idle goes really bad when the radiator fans when on... odd...!!
Yesterday while in the parking lot the car was at idle, and the rpm was rock solid at 1000-rpm, and when the fan started it when down to like 600-rpm ..!! then keep comming down and almost stall... the fans turn off and the car jumped to 1000-rpm again... wierd..!!

Please help...!!

Thanks as always for your help.

Miguel

You can back of the spring tension just a little to help with idle. When the fan kicks on it will lower rpm (vacuum) just enough to cause the BOV to close completely and that will mess with idle/vacuum. A low Hertz reading from the maf will cause problems so change the bov spring tension or raise the idle a bit. Or as Al said, get his new flash.

WOW... That's just great AL.... Thanks a lot...

The only thing now is that my EVO is my daily driver and the 3000GT is at the mechanic shop without a crankshaft... so, as soon as I can get a car I will send you the ECU... well let me talk with my girlfriend to see if we can make some kind of arrangement... If I can, I will be sending it to you on Monday..

Once again, THANKS A LOT....

Looks like I won't be having a car to use if I send you the ECU this week, so I must wait until next week when the 3000GT is ready, so I can use it and send you the ECU of the EVO for the reflash...

Thanks for your patience..!!
