IX tuning

Anyone that claims Al hasnt completely figured out the IX's hasnt experienced his work directly or the are being a hater. The car pulls like a freight train. It used to go flat after 6k, now it pulls harder and harder and harder the closer you get to 7800rpm which is just what I want.

As for Al's personality well I thought he was cool, it was like having Big Pun tune my ride. I think Al is the kinda guy that treat people the way you treat him, meaning if you are nice and treat him with respect he will do the same, but if your a jerk...ya. But regardless of that he will get you the best results possible. He spent the extra time that was needed to make might car perfect even though it through off the scedual which is the right thing to do. Now I can be added to the long list of happy & Fast customers.

FYI I will be racing my co-workers M3 to get a better idea of the improvement. The last time we raced it was dead even from a 20mph roll to 100. The M3 has an exhaust and I have an TBE, apexi cone filter and wire ground kit.

That's funny because I didnt say anything about street racing. Assumption is the mother of screw ups because it shows everyone how you jump to conclusions especially when you threaten to kick me out of the forum based on a lack of facts. The reason we go from a roll is to eliminate the launch part of a race.

I know a ton about track Racing as I used to Race motorcycles ON THE TRACK(road course) with a few podium finishes.

So what have we learned. Dont make a assumptions, find out the facts.

Hey, White (white?) IX, glad you loved your tune. I'm sure your car will surprise your M3 buddy. Do you guys go to a private road on some private property or an abandoned landing strip?

As far as taking the launch out of it, why would you do that? That is removing one of your main advantages. Do you remove an advantage from the M3 like adding a few hundred pounds to make up for his 2wd advantage from a roll?

I remove the launch factor because I am just trying to get a sence of what the car will do on the top end. I know all-wheel drive will launch much better then 2wd. I am more into road racing so I try not to worry about launching so much.

But yea the tune is Sweet.

Yes, but in road racing, you don't go straight, so "top end" is only important on the straight, if there even is one. What's important is how fast you go into and out of turns, right? So, we use the AWD to our great advantage by accelerating hard at full boost coming out of turns or while pulling through sweepers. The M3 can'd do that...

So, where do you guys do these 20-100mph runs? That would be fun to do no with my alky, but we don't have any abandoned roads or airstrips like that around here...

Yeah, dudes, 2 step alone is just worth the money. I wasn't expecting anything from 2 step but When I tested out today, boy what a surprise, I am still excited about that launch control. Thanks AL.

I was tuned yesterday and my car is running a ton smoother and pulling like mad

Al's personality is "east coast", meaning straight forward. Dont ask him a ton of questions or get in his way while he's concentrating on making your car put out the best possible performance, thats all he asks and he shouldnt even have to

I got along with him fine

x3... Al is a great guy, no BS, no coddling, and no problems. With just a tune, meth, mbc, and a 3'' tbe with cat my car is scary fast. I can't wait to get it dyno'd to see what kind of power I’m putting down. The car was maxing out my defi bf boost gauge without knocking or pulling timing all while running smooth as silk AFRs. We turned it down a bit for an even greater margin of safety but the potential is there and the car still pulls like a ****. I feel that my money was very well spent getting the custom road tune and couldn't be happier with the results.

Argh, I wish I could fill that spot, but I have more than enough parts to install in my car this weekend. I'll wait until I get my mbc and then it's custom tune form Al next time he's in socal
