got cams changed out....
I recently had my 264's swapped out for 272's. Actually I had it done on Thursday. Yesterday, my SES light came on and I went to a shop and had the scanner put on it. It was the P0300 random misfire code. I just changed my plugs (BPR7ES) not too long ago. I have them gapped to .26 and they are MAYBE 2 months old. I'm thinking the code came up while the car was idling, but I'm not sure cause my gauge pod blocks it so I don't really notice it. This is the 3rd time in the almost 3 years I've owned the car I've had a random misfire code and everytime changing the plugs has fixed it.
Now for my question. Since I swapped cams, should I be running a different plug or maybe the plugs need to be regapped? If so, what plugs or gapping is good to run?
My mods are:
HKS RS intake
Helix downpipe
Perrin Test pipe
HKS cat back
HKS 272's
Walbro
HKS evc-v
and a custom DynoFlash (for my 264's)
I was actually thinking of getting retuned, but I'm in the process of maybe buying a TME turbo so I'd rather wait til I get that and get it tuned for everything at one time.
Thanks,
Corey

Okay....I'm gonna play with the gapping first and see if that helps. If not, I'll be contacting you to find a good time to ship it to you.
Thanks for the replies.
EDIT: If I send it in, would that count as my free upgrade from when I got custom tuned? Do you think the custom tune for my 264's would be fine our could I gain anyhting from a another map from someone else?

I had the p0300 cel but also had misfire between 2000-3000rpm. This happen everytime i hit the highway. I dont have cams. I change spark, spark plugs wire, different spark gaps all of this with no luck. i took mitsubishi flash and i have to weeks without cel or misfire.

The powerband is alot different from the 264's. The 264's were mostly low end and mid range to where the 272's are mid range and top end. I honestly don't feel like I've lost any low end at all. It does seem a little laggier though in first gear, but after that it's power everywhere. My car seems like it just wants to keep pulling. I'm trying to work out a deal on a TME so when or if I get that I'm gonna want to be tuned again.
I'd like to see 350 whp and 350 trq (I'll take more) with these cams and at least a 10.5 hotside if I don't get the TME. Al or anyone else, you think that is possible?
