Plus the 20g-9 has been a pump gas disappointment so far. I know it is still early, but so far it is not looking good for those people, like Corey, who want an upgraded turbo to run strictly on pump.

Corey, your plugs are gapped correctly at .26 You are most likely going to have to get the dealership flash your ECU then send it of to Al again later.

Later,
Nathan

Well I changed my plugs out last night and went driving around for about 15 minutes. So far the SES light hasn't come on yet. I did notice on one of the plugs (where the plug wire connects to it) there was a black mark on it like a spark had hit it. I don't know if the plug wire wasn't all the way down or what. It would make sense though cause I just had my car worked on. I guess I'll find out.

Good to hear it is running well at the moment. Judging from your description you may have hit the nail on the head. I made that mistake once in my DSM, and I have all sorts of WOT acceleration problems. All i did was re-seat the plugs and it was good to go.

On a side note, it looks like I will be in town the weekend of Feb 16th. You going to be around?

The peak numbers might be disappointing but there is no comparison on the powerband. The turbo really comes alive with race gas but that's the case with most smaller turbos

I'm chiming in mostly because I've been thinking about ditching the HKS 264's and putting some GSC 272's. I'll probably wait until I'm ready to rebuild the motor/valvetrain.

I had the famous P0300 for a little while after 30k miles of no troubles.. I found by switching to BR7ES my problem was gone. I've also had a stock coil pack fry on me.. and I have the HKS DL2.

Yeah....I should be around. Just give me a call a day or two before and we can set soemthing up to hang out for a while.

As far as my misfire....it came back today. I was sitting in a drive thru and it came on while I was idling.

justchil.....the 272's are pretty much night and day IMO. The car pulls some much differently now. It's a beast pretty much everywhere when it hit boost. I'm beginning to think I might have a bad coil pack as well.

The p0300 code isn't a common thing with my car. It only comes on when my plugs are actually crappy. I'm gonna try a few more things and then get the reflash and then send the ECU back to Al.

I hear ya man

Just out of curiosity what type of gap tool are you using?

I normally only got the P0300 after a new set of plugs or when I had a bad set. I've only seen it once since I've replaced my coil pack.. I plan to replace the other coil just to be safe.

Good luck man!

Edit: One thing I thought of.. you might check your coil packs for any sort of bulge or deformation.. Mine had a nice bulge on it once it was fried.. maybe you could catch it early if indeed there may be a problem.

I'm just using the normal round gapper. It worked fine the last time I used it. I'll check my coil packs and go from there. Thanks man.

Hows that 20G working out for you?
