The max torque is very impressive.
But why does the hp level off and taper at ~4800 though? I realize this is a factory turbo, so I expect that to happen at some point, but from your other case studies on that dyno, it usually doesn't happen until after 6k with a stock turbo.
If you were racing this car, it looks like you would have to shift at 5.5k or less, otherwise you're losing significant power. It seems like kind of waste on a car that can rev to ~7000 stock IMO.
I'm sure all that torque feels awesome on the street though.

Also - the stock lower fmic and upper fmic pipes are hardly ideal
Its tough to draw generalizations about a turbo from one or two customer cars
However, I see in this turbo that the TQ pulls over 350 from 3500 to 5500 which is very broad
There is no doubt that the IX turbo is a great upgrade
However, the IX 20 G is an even better upgrade and from a perspective of sheer economics it would make no sense to buy a IX turbo - the IX 20G from Buschur is the same price or chaper if you upgrade your current turbo
The main point why this "case study" is of intesrest is that we see that the IX turbo spools VERY well on a 2003 evo without any MIVEC
I think it is safe to conclude that 05 of the power gains on a IX come from the turbo - for what it is worth
I drove this car on the road and it feels more like a IX than a 8 - the TQ on a IX is much flatter and holds longer - less of a spiking feeling than on the 8's

Torque is sick!! It looks like the Evo IX turbo is that good after all and it seems its 95% repsonsible for the gains on the IX Evo!!
