Case Study # 150 - Evo IX Stage 1 - 343 TQ - 341 WHP

Guys here is a brand new Evo IX owner is here not even registered here yet and he was in today for some bolt on parts for his brand new IX

His mods include a hideous 2.5 " exhuast that was made by some local muffle rshop (before he talked to us)

HKS RS Intake
Forge BOV
Forge MBC

Custom tuned Dyno Flash IX flash

Here is the dyno sheet

* Note - this car was so strong even the stronger Evo IX fuel pump is maxed out and he needs a walbro fuel pump at this power level

The peak boost was 20 psi tapering to 18.5

The gas was 93 octane

When we tried to turn the boost a bit higher as I usually do the a/f when too lean - the injectors were 100% wide open

The fuel pump was not supplying enough fuel

Walbro 255 lph pump # 342 is next along with a 272 exhuast cam

Depends on the temps and barometric pressure. If I had the run files, I could convert them, but it's probably around 330/330 if it was ~40 degrees.

Whats up with the two noticeable dips in the upper rpm range??? -> Is that where the fuel pump is causing problems?
