Base Flash On Stock 2004 Evo RS - Dyno Results

My very first mod! Yippee!

I stopped by Pruven the other day and had Al install a standard flash on my completely stock 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS.

I'm very impressed with the way things have turned out so far. Not only is the car noticeably faster, but it's a lot smoother as well.

Anyhow, I figured it might be useful to post some of my results.

Really high #'s for a stock 04. The other thing i noticed is that Dynoflash (mail-in) guarrentees a 20awhp/20tq increase to the wheels. It did not happen.

thanks for the graph's

there is a lot of gain after 6k. cool.
But, I don't think you can feel before that. just feel the smoothness may be. I can't feel the 20whp difference with my butt dyno. It has to be at least 40 whp difference to feel something.

might not be a 20whp gain but that car is very strong for stock...definatly not a "normal" base line for a 04..

great numbers!!

read the graph better, there's 20whp/tq gain on the map, don't compare peak numbers.

Exactly, stop looking at just peak numbers people. Pretty please?

HP/TQ increases

A couple of things I should point out:

1) I asked Al for a very conservative tune.

2) It is also important to note that I did see a significant increase (more than 20) in both horsepower and torque in certain areas.

Comparison

Another stock 2004 Evo RS on the same dyno with a custom (mine is base) tune:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ighlight=stock

It is interesting to note that I have some similar dips (around 5200 stock and around 4500 after the flash) as the other vehicle did before they changed the spark plugs.

Guess I should probably throw in a fresh set of plugs.

Yeah, I don't see how that guy could claim there's not a 20whp gain when there's at least a 35whp difference up around 7k. Looking at ONLY the difference in peak numbers is foolish, especially when there's a dynograph staring you in the face with several sections that show a difference of 20whp or greater.
